Xavior Can't Shake Curse of Outlaw's Branding Iron

Xavior Can't Shake Curse of Outlaw's Branding Iron

Posted: Mar 4th 2009 By: CMBurnham

Since turning his back on his partner Kevin Morgan, Xavior has become a one-man wrecking crew. He's plowed through all the competition he's been faced with.. His brief tutelage under the wing of current MSWA commissioner Outlaw seemed to have served him well as far as teaching him how to utilise his treachery and underhandedness.

But Outlaw warned Xavior that the branding iron he took from the retired legend might turn out to be more of a curse than a blessing. And that warning seems to have proven true.

Xavior was one of two men who Outlaw did not rescind a fine on at the last MSWA show in February. Not only did he fine Xavior, but he also levied a 3 show suspension, although that suspension applied soley to the traveling shows MSWA was scheduled to make at the end of that month. That meant that when it came time for the first show of March, he could be back on the roster and prepared to take out some revenge.

Some months earlier, Xavior did earn the right to challenge for the MSWA Oklahoma Title. For 8 months, Bad Boy had put that belt up regularly. As long as he defended the belt every 30 days, no one could say anything about it. And in his first bid for singles gold in MSWA, Xavior challenged Bad Boy to put his title on the line. Tempers between these two men were boiling to an overload and Xavior hoped to take complete advantage of this.

He got off to the right start for sure. Distract your opponent. Make them think that something is going on when in FACT he doesn't know the most basic of realities. That's what Bad Boy did Sunday, entering from behind the ring through the crowd. Bad Boy was able to accomplish this successfully because he got Halo to pose as him and keep Xavior's attention focused in one direction while he came from the opposite.

With the match off to that bad of a start for the challenger, it wasn't long before he started resorting to cheating and illicit activities to gain the upper hand. The referee was knocked out and at that point, Xavior reached for the branding iron, having seemingly predicted that he was not going to win this on his own. But he seemed to have forgotten that Oulaw was sitting at ringside. Outlaw had already had a busy day, levying fines at TAP Champion The Canadian Red Devil and members of the MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champions T. M. S. So he was almost off guard by the challenger's behavior. He stared blankly, then stormed to the ring after having seen Xavior's intentions. When Xavior reached for the weapon, he was met by the presence of the voice of law and order: Outlaw.

After Outlaw exchanged some words with the Oklahoma Champion, Xavior went and grabbed Outlaw's branding iron, then announced that he could do whatever he wanted to and shoved Outlaw. A look of glee came over his face and for one brief moment, Outlaw was back in fighting shape. Taking advantage of that, Outlaw shoved Xavior, then knocked him out with the branding iron. 3 seconds later a most amazing ending to the conflict as Bad Boy emerged with the championship title still securley fastened around his waist. And while Xavior thought he might get a chance to slink back to the locker room and lick his wounds, that wasn't going to be the case here. Instead, Outlaw stopped him on his way away from the ring and once more reminded him that the iron was going to be a curse, not a blessing.

A swift and clear loss to Bad Boy presumably ends his ability to challenge for the title. At this point, Xavior needs to find a tag team partner that can be sure he won't betray them and should look to pursue the tag team titles. Those seem to be the most vulnerable.

Whether Xavior is able to rise to this cause or not depends on how well he can control his ego while trying to find this partner. Although he had success with Kevin Morgan as the New Varsity Club, he hadn't been able to cross over to the same success with anyone else.
