Another "Sensational" Title Reign Begins

Another "Sensational" Title Reign Begins

Posted: Jan 20th 2009 By: mikeiles

The feud between Seth Allen and Dustin Heritage has been going on for months. They have traded the Impact Division Title back and forth. And now Seth Allen has the "Sensational" upper hand.

Heritage won the title originally at IZW's "September Slam" on September 13th from Kenny Campbell in a 5-Way Ladder Match that also included Seth Allen, Jermaine Johnson, and Randy Price. It was thought that possibly Heritage had finally broke through to the next level. A long title reign was hoped by the fans and Heritage himself. But apparently Seth Allen had different plans. Just two weeks after winning the title, Heritage lost it to Allen. Then Allen took precautionary measures to keep Heritage out of the title hunt. Allen went so far as to attack Heritage in the wrestlers parking lot putting Heritage on the injured list. He also got someone to watch his back in his tag team partner, Dane Griffin. Heritage made his return at "Halloween Hangover". He sat in the crowd in a Halloween costume then attacked Allen during the "Monster's Bash Battle Royal". The return match between Allen and Heritage was signed for "Chaotic Christmas" and Heritage regained the title. Ironically, Dane Griffin won a 5-Way Elimination Match to be named the #1 contender to the Impact Division Title on the same show. Allen invoked his rematch clause for January 17th and the fans voted for the stipulation on the match. It ended up being a First Blood Match and Dane Griffin was not happy to be passed over since he was the #1 contender. Griffin came to the ring during the Allen-Heritage match with chair in hand. But he assisted his Revolution partner and Allen was once again champion.

So what happens next? Griffin is the #1 contender to the Impact Division Title but his partner is the champion. Does Griffin's #1 contender status protect Allen from Heritage and all other challengers? Or will Griffin demand a match? Time will tell.

Other News & Notes from the IZW show:
The show began with Co-Commissioner Steve O in the ring with 2 members of Impact, Inc, Johnny Z & Bernie D. To begin, Steve O announced that he would be handling ring announcing duties because he gave Jesse Storm the night off. They then began bragging about how they attacked IZW Tag Team Champions BLK-OUT and Aaron Neil. While they continued to brag, out strolled Co-Commissioner Mike Iles who had been absent since early December. After the obligatory fat jokes from Johnny Z, Iles got down to business. he said he heard them bragging and tonight he signed a match featuring BLK-OUT and Aaron Neil against Johnny Z, Bernie D, & Michael Barry. This raised the ire of Johnny Z who said that Barry was not in attendance. Iles said he did not care it was his problem and if Barry was not in attendance then it would be a Handicap Match. The match was scheduled for 3rd on the card and after the 2nd match, Iles came out again. He addressed Steve O's ring announcing, which he said he "sucked". He then relieved Steve O of the ring announcing duties and brought in a fan from the crowd to take over. The fan's name is Ryan Ragsdale and did a great job considering he was thrown right into the fire (so to speak). Iles then said he listened to Johnny Z's complaints about it was unfair to be put in a match when one of his partners was not in the arena. Iles said he found a partner for them. The fans began chanting "STEVE O" and Iles said it was a heck of an idea. The match ended when Steve O tapped out to Aaron Neil's ankle lock.

The opening match was Max McGuirk against Ky-ote Joe and was a great start to a great night. Both McGuirk and Joe gave it their all but McGuirk won the match.

After the first match, Iles came out again and showed the fans a video of Eric Rose being attacked in the parking lot by Shane Rawls the week before. Rose was taken to the hospital and his return date is unknown. Iles also suspended Rawls for his actions.

The second match featured John O'Malley vs. Austin Tacious, who was announced first. His entrance video had apparently been doctored as every so often the regular video would change to show Tacious working out at home with 3 pound dumbbells doing aerobics. O'Malley picked up the victory following a Burning Hammer. McGuirk then came out and called out O'Malley who said to get in the ring. McGuirk came down the ramp to ringside then thought better of it and retreated.

Striker defeated Randy Price by Countout because Ky-ote Joe came to ringside ditracting Price. They apparently have unfinished business as well.

IZW is in action each and every Saturday night at The Impact Arena in Lawton. Admission is only $5 and of course that is the best value for your wrestling dollar. Bell Time is 7pm,

IZW...FEEL THE IMPACT!!!
