Impact, Inc making no friends in IZW
Posted: Jun 19th 2006 By: CMBurnham
Since its inception 2 years ago, Impact, Inc, headed by Bernie Donderwitz and IZW owner John Zorthos, have gone out of their way to upset the fans and dominate as much of the action as they could. IZW Champion Aaron Neil is a long time member of this group as well and last month, they added Brad Michaels to the fold when he turned on his fellow Old School Assassin member Seth Allen, returning the IZW Tag Team Titles back to Impact, Inc. Michaels took the place of Brandon Bishop, who was fired from Impact, Inc and IZW after refusing to lay down after he earned a title shot against Aaron Neil.
On June 17, IZW fans discovered that things had changed and most of it was for the worse. John Zorthos had blackballed Seth Allen from competing in IZW and Brad Michaels had filed charges of assault against Brandon Bishop, resulting in Bishop being temporarily jailed.
But there was one thorn in the side of Impact, Inc: IZW Commissioner Gary Tool. Tool has repeatedly pointed out that his contract is iron-clad and, no matter how much Zorthos may want to fire him, he cannot or Tool would end up owning IZW. So on this night, Tool took action to try and frustrate Impact, Inc as much as possible. First, he set up a match between Brad Michaels and former Old School Assassin, AACW Mid-American Light Heavyweight Champion Dexter Hardaway, with Seth Allen as the special referee. Dexter gained the victory, but was the victim of a post-match 3-on-1 attack by Impact, Inc.
On a happier note for the fans, The Party Express, who have not had the greatest amount of success in IZW, were granted a Tag Team Title match against Donderwitz and Zorthos by Gary Tool. Towards the end of this match, the referee got knocked out and Tool came to the ring to act as the official. He was met by a sit-out powerbomb, courtesy of Bernie Donderwitz. Before Impact, Inc could further injure Tool, Seth Allen returned to push John Zorthos off the top rope, allowing him to be covered. Seth, still officially liscensed for the night as an IZW referee, counted the pinfall and Mitch Carter and Cade Sydal gained the Tag Team Championship!
Impact, Inc would enact a measure of revenge later that night backstage as they made a 3-on-1 attack against Seth Allen and gave him a Spike Piledriver on the floor, resulting in him being put out indefinetly.
But John Zorthos has to be concerned because, at the beginning of the show, he was told that next month he would be facing Brandon Bishop at IZW's first ever outdoor event. And the match would take place inside a steel cage. With that in place, it seems unlikely that the rest of Impact, Inc can interfere and Bishop can enact a small measure of revenge against his former associate.
