Blast From The Past! ICF Reformed!

Blast From The Past! ICF Reformed!

ComPro fans have been wishing for new tag team champions since Legion 13 took the titles in November. Ray Martinez and his associates have managed to hold onto the titles despite facing increasing competition, especially from the team of Justin Lee and El Super Colibri, known collectively as Team SuperBad. Recently, despite not being tag team champions, Team SuperBad was voted Tag Team of the Year by the fans of ComPro. This didn't sit well with Martinez, who guided teams to 2 ComPro Tag Team Titles. But the vote results meant a lot to Justin & Colibri and they came out at the beginning of the show to adress the crowd.

After thanking the crowd for their confidence, Justin said that it was only because of Ray Martinez that Legion 13 were still champions. Justin begged ComPro owner Mike Two to give them a title shot. Mike Two arrived as the fans collectively chanted "Title Shot!". Mike said he didn't like the ending of the last match between Team SuperBad & Legion 13, but before he could get any further, Martinez arrived, followed by Jesus Rodriguez & Dutch Hagen. Martinez took the mic and said that Team SuperBad had received two title shots and were unable to capitalise on either them. As far as he was concerned, they didn't deserve any more. Mike Two snatched the microphone away and said he didn't invite Martinez out. He can handle business himself and calmly pondered
(out loud) about maybe making a tag team title shot happen after all.

Martinez then took a cheap shot on El Super Colibri, hitting the back of his knee with a baseball bat. Colibri collapsed and Legion 13 scattered like cockroaches away from the ring. Mike Two and Justin Lee helped the fallen luchadore out of the ring, but it appeared that Legion 13 had won this confrontation and would not have to defend their tag team titles. That feeling of confidence was eroded soon after as Mike Two returned to the ring and called Justin Lee back. Mike promised Justin that he would have the doctors look at Colibri and if he's able to compete, he will. But that didn't seem likely. Mike told Justin that the tag team title shot would happen tonight. If Justin could convince someone to wrestle twice, that would be fine. Or if he could call someone to come and tag with him, that would be acceptable as well. But the shot couldn't be put off. Justin had until the main event to come up with a partner. Justin left the ring and told Mike that he had "a phone call to make".

When the main event rolled around, Legion 13 came to the ring calm and cocky, believing that they didn't have anything to be worried about. And when ComPro ring annoucer Jamie announced the challengers, she only said Justin's name. Justin came to the ring alone and took the microphone. He said that 8 years ago, he wrestled his first match as part of a faction known as ICF. His partner from those days had answered his call and he re-introduced the crowd to the "Human Hate Machine", Outcast! Outcast came out and for the first time in 2+ years, ICF stood reunited in the ring. Despite not having worked together since 2006, ICF showed no rust and Justin & Outcast appeared to be prepared to take advantage of their surprise reunion and walk away champions. Ray Martinez seemed to feel the same way and must have sensed that he was precariously close to losing his precious title belts, so he entered the ring and attacked Justin as he had a cover on on of the Legion 13 members. The referee had no choice but to disqualify ICF and Hagen & Rodriguez walked away having lost the match, but knowing they hadn't lost the championships.

ICF's storied past began in 2001 when they attacked Anthony Jackson and Dexter Hardaway during a Hardcore match in OPW. Their first official match together was a Triple Threat Tag Team match against Northern Threat and the VIP Crew. Justin captured the OPW Oklahoma Light Heavyweight Title in his first singles match from Dexter Hardaway and Vanessa eventually won the OPW Women's Title. When OPW turned into OCW, ICF continued to be a dominant force, but tensions began to surface between Justin & Outcast. Justin certainly thought of himself as the senior member of the team, as he was the OCW Oklahoma Light Heavyweight Champion, but the fans became more and more interested in Outcast. Eventually, the confrontation couldn't be put off anymore and Justin and Outcast faced off in July, 2002. Outcast won the Light Heavyweight Title and Justin was forced to leave OCW. At that point, ICF ceased to exist as a unit and while Justin would return to OCW and both men would compete in TPW in 2003, they would never team together while there. Outcast left TPW in 2004 and began to compete around the state under his real name of Kenny Campbell. In 2006, Justin & Kenny reunited for what was believed to be a one-time occurance in FCW, taking on Mitch Carter & Bernard Funk. Victorious in that event, it seemed to be something of a fitting capstone to the legacy they started in 2001. But despite the success, the one thing missing from ICF's record is tag team gold. And now that seems possible.

This is all assuming that Outcast remains in ComPro. Outcast has made his home in IZW for most of the past 4 years. He was recently inducted as a charter member of the IZW Hall of Impact. Plus, his relationship with Justin has always been tenuous since their parting in 2002. At this point they are united, but if Martinez can plant a seed of dissention between them, he can dispose of yet another challenge to his tag team titles. Otherwise, ICF may soon do what so many thought they would do in 2001: become tag team champions.
