Most of the pro wrestling world was eagerly anticipating WWE's second ECW pay-per-view so not a whole lot of new to report but here goes...
- Former ECW star Tracy Smothers has posted a new commentary on his website, stating that he's under the impression he won't be part of the new ECW because of his outspoken nature against JBL over the last year. Smothers has been openly challenging JBL to fight him since The Blue Meanie incident at ECW One Night Stand last June.
- The Record Herald in Pennsylvania has an article in today's edition about WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper, discussing his career after a recent local appearance in Blue Ridge. To check out the article, go to www.therecordherald.com
- Speaking of Piper, he and Wrestlemania 1 co-headliner Cyndi Lauper reunited this week in New York City as both are taking part in a new national commercial being filmed for the new Trivial Pursuit Game - Totally '80s, which debuts this fall. Lauper is directing the commercial, which features original music that she collaborated on. ECW ring announcer Stephen DeAngelis handled the casting of the commercial, which filmed this week in New York City.
- The WWE DVD release of "The American Dream: The Dusty Rhodes Story" has been well received. One Oklahoma based wrestler recently purchased the DVD and really raved about it. The DVD can be purchased at most video stores or online at WWE Shopzone (http://www.wwe.com/shop).
