Bolos "Sticking It" To The Competition

Bolos "Sticking It" To The Competition

Posted: Oct 23rd 2008 By: CMBurnham

Approximately one year ago, Anthony Jackson formed a stable called the Hall of Famers, which included Rico Suave and a newcomer known only as the Greatest Bolo. One year later, that partnership has dissolved. Jackson was forced into retirement and Rico and Bolo have been at each others' throats. That feud has been relatively even until recently, when Bolo was joined by a new partner (known as the Amazing Bolo) and a manager (Sensei Bolo).

The crowd reaction to the Greatest Bolo was always derogatory, especially for those who remember the tradition established by the Great Bolo 2nd. The former OPW star was a superheavyweight who inspired terror in his opponents with his size, his power and his cunning. A former member of the VIP Crew, Great Bolo 2nd is a verifiable legend in Oklahoma.

The Greatest Bolo....well, let's just say that he's had a harder time creating his legacy. Being Jackson's whipping boy wasn't helping any. And partnered with Rico, whose win-loss record is best described as "abominable", the Greatest Bolo found himself on the losing side way more often than the winning side.

But when Rico embrace the fans, Bolo took some time off. And when he returned, he had an issue to bring against his former tag team partner. ComPro management tried to force the pair to cooperate, placing them together in a 4-Corners Elimination Match on August 9. The pair refused to work together and, after being eliminated, fought each other up the aisle to the ring entrance.

Thus began the pattern of interference that continued for several weeks. Bolo interfered on August 23 in a match between Rico & Reckless, costing Rico the match. In return, ComPro owner Mike Two forced Bolo to face the returning Pork Chop that same night. Two weeks later, on September 6, Bolo again came out to the ring to distract Rico in a match against Mako. Once again, the distraction cost Rico the match.

Things began to pick up on September 13, when once again, Bolo wandered out during Rico's match, this time against Pork Chop. Mike Two had enough and ordered the two men to face each other in a match on September 20. Rico expected a one-on-one match, but towards the end of that match, The Amazing Bolo made his debut, bringing a kendo stick to the ring and lancing Rico across the back, leading to another loss.

Believing he was facing just two men, Rico demanded a revenge match on October 11 against the Amazing Bolo. He knew he would probably have to deal with the Greatest Bolo and was prepared for that, countering the attack and snatching the kendo stick. But as Rico was preparing to hit the Greatest Bolo, Sensei Bolo made his way to the ring. He attacked Rico, putting him down. Then, in a move that has become more familiar over the past couple of weeks, Sensei immortalised the moment with a picture of his fallen opponent in the ring.

Sensei's presence seems to have reignited The Greatest Bolo's desire to compete. He was granted a shot at the ComPro Oklahoma X Division Champion Justin Lee and while he didn't win the title, he certainly made a good showing for himself. Later that night, he redeemed himself with a victory against Kobra Kai. Photographic evidence of that victory is posted on the ComPro message board. Now posing a threat either by himself or with The Amazing Bolo in tag team competition, The Greatest Bolo has all buy eliminated the memory of the Hall of Famers and is prepared to venture forward to greater success through the rest of 2008 and beyond.
