Nitro Displays Explosive Temper Against Fellow Champions

Nitro Displays Explosive Temper Against Fellow Champions

Posted: Oct 15th 2008 By: CMBurnham

Warriors 4 Christ Wrestling made their debut showing this past Saturday in Okemah and one of the featured matchups pitted W4CW Intercontinental Champion Joey Nitro against W4CW Cruiserweight Champion Bruno Richie. Fans percpetion of the two champions would completely switch by the end of the match and Nitro would go on to make it clear that one title is not enough for him unless it's the Heavyweight Title.

Richie was announced to the ring first and came out with the Cruiserweight Title. He's certainly not the size that most cruiserweights are and can only claim to meet the weight requirement "unofficially" Wearing a wife-beater and looking like an extra from a street scene in The Sopranos, he entered the ring, ignoring the pleas and reaction from the crowd.

Next out came Joey Nitro, who bounded around the ring like the dynamite he was named for. Nitro was certainly the fan favourite at the beginning of the show and showed off a strong scientific side to his behaviour. But that side didn't bring him a win as, after a long delayed vertical suplex, Nitro must have landed on his head, temporarily knocking him senseless. Referee John the Encourager counted 3 and Richie was declared the winner. He didn't win Nitro's belt, as this was a non-title match. But he certainly had to be considered the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Title after this.

Whether Richie would get a title shot soon became a minor issue as, in a fit of rage, Joey Nitro attacked Richie after the match was over. He pounded the New Yorker severely, then DDTed him on his own title belt. Nitro then laid the Cruiserweight Title on the prone Richie and left the ring to a highly mixed reaction. Perhaps wanting to make it completely clear just whose side he was on, Nitro reentered the ring and continued the beating he had begun earlier, stopping only when he felt that it no longer served a purpose.

Nitro made a reappearance during the W4CW Title match between Weezy Woo and champion Rocky Morocco. And he didn't come alone, either, as he brought a steel chair with him to the ring. Nitro tried to give the chair to Woo, but Woo would have none of that. John the Encourager took the chair from him in any case, but Nitro would eventually get ahold of it again. This time, he wasted no time in using it across the back of the champion, allowing Woo to cover "The Holy Hawaiian" for a pin. In a somewhat confusing action, Nitro then pulled Woo off of the fallen champion, preventing a pin. Woo was completely upset at being denied a chance to score the pinfall and took his aggression out of Nitro, decking him after one punch. This distraction allowed Rocky Moracco to recover so that, when Weezy Woo reentered, Morocco could easily score the win. Unhappy with that decision (and, perhaps, any decision that didn't result in him being declared the winner.), Nitro decided to attack Rocky Morocco. Rocky fought back relentlessly and was finally able to drive the bitter secondary champion from the ring. Then, in an act of pure sportsmanship, he raised the hand of Weezy Woo before leaving the ring area.

Many people in Okemah were hoping that W4CW would retun to Okemah soon. If that is the case, Oklafan will keep you informed on that situation. In the meantime, you can check out their website or their MySpace to keep up with the W4CW action until they come back to Oklahoma.
