Erik Watts Discusses The Insane Politics Of TNA And Discusses The Reason He Left The National Wrestling Scene

Posted: Sep 26th 2008 By: CMBurnham

No stranger to controversy, Erik Watts knows how to make waves. From his early trial-by-fire debut in WCW to Tekno Team 2000 in WWF to the D.O.A. spot in TNA, Watts has always been able to spark debate. Now, after disappearing from the National scene for the past few years, Erik has resurfaced and he has plenty to say. Hear it all for yourself on ClubWWI.com right now as Erik Watts joins James Guttman for an exclusive 100 minute uncut shoot interview.

That's right. 100 Minutes? with Erik Watts. You think you know it all? Not a chance. Among the topics discussed on ClubWWI.com are: The Insane Reason Why Jeff Jarrett Wanted To Fire Him, Crazy TNA Politics, Why Brian Urlacher Was Upset With His TNA Appearance, The Former WCW Champion Erik Threatened To Beat Up, Why He Left Wrestling, How His Dad Egged Rick Steiner Into Beating Him Up, How His Dad's War With The Dirtsheets Lead To Unfair Critics, Early Memories of The Blade Runners (Sting and Ultimate Warrior) At His House, The Origins of The DOA Gimmick, Lex Luger Staying With Him During His Paralysis Recovery, The Huge Heat He Had in WCW, Shooting on Paul Heyman, Creating The "Triple J" Chant, How You Can Get Discounted Mid South DVDs, and More

One subject that came up a great deal was TNA. Erik discussed some of the insane politics backstage and the beef that Jeff Jarrett had with him. Many issues actually played out on air and lead to some tense moments backstage. Watts even explains the insane reason Jeff wanted to have him fired. Actually, "insane" might be a little tame. It's something you have to hear to believe. Just as you get over the surprise of that...check out the issues that they had with Brian Urlacher. It'll blow your mind.

The million dollar question on most fans' minds is Erik's spot in wrestling today. Where's he been? What's he been up to in the business?

Watts mentioned that he runs www.UniversalWrestling.com. You can get Mid South DVDs exclusively through there. Anyone who mentions that they heard about the site on World Wrestling Insanity will receive $5 off.

As for why he left the business? He answers that on ClubWWI.com too:

"I had some personal issues called divorce. It's a horrible thing. I don't wish it on anybody. But during that point in time, my legal team said for me to step out totally of doing anything wrestling-wise. So it's been almost three years. Two weeks ago, it was finalized. So I did a little bit of GCW, but even that was too much for that. So because of particulars, I wasn't supposed to say things, do things. They told me how to walk, talk, act. So those leashes are off me. Those chains are unbound. So now I can get back to what I've always known and what I've always loved and that's pro wrestling."
