The Naturals to be "Franchised"?

The Naturals (Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens) have been in somewhat of a slump as of late. They lost the NWA World Tag Team Titles to their arch-rivals America's Most Wanted (James Storm & Chris Harris) in October 2005. Since that time they have been successful in defeating The LAX (Konnan & Homicide) and also the team of Buck Quartermain & Lex Lovett, but when facing AMW, they seem to come up short, including a recent match against them in NWA Universal on May 13th. They are no longer in the NWA Tag Team Titles picture right now after losing a #1 contenders match to Austin Aries & Roderick Strong. They also lost a title match against NWA Wrestle Birmingham Tag Team Champions Elix Skipper & David Young. Trying to wrestle in singles has been much of the same. Douglas was injured and out of action. Stevens tried to get some singles success under his belt in his partner's absence. He was part of the Escape The Cage 6 Way Match that was eventually won by Chris Sabin. Three weeks ago on TNA Impact, Stevens lost to Abyss and was put through a table. Two weeks ago, Stevens was decimated by TNA X Division Champion Samoa Joe. Douglas made the save for Stevens at the end of that match to avoid further beatdown by Joe. Following that match, former UWF Television Champion and former ECW World Heavyweight Champion "The Franchise" Shane Douglas was seen standing on the entry ramp watching what was going on. This week on Impact, Andy Douglas made his TNA return and lost to Team Canada's enforcer, Bobby Rude. As Team Canada prepared to use a chair on Douglas, Stevens made the save. Shane again made an appearance. He did not get on the microphone but he clearly told The Naturals "It ends tonight". Speculation has already started about the meaning of what he told The Naturals. Given the fact that The Naturals won the NWA World Tag Team Titles with Chris Candido in their corner just days before his death, and the fact that Douglas and Candido had been close during their days in ECW, it looks as if The Naturals may be getting "Franchised".
