Rocco Valentino silences his critics

Oklahoma Old School Champion Rocco Valentino made a surprise appearance at the NWA-U show as Charming Charles' mystery 6th entrant into the Oklahoma 6-shot to determine the #1 contender to the NWA Oklahoma Title.

Charles had announced to the crowd that he had a mystery entrant during the opening moments of the show, which saw NWA-U owner Chris Fox turn control of the company over to Charles, so that Fox could focus on his music interests. Nothing more was said about the upcoming match until the main event arrived. Tim WarCloud and former NWA Oklahoma Champion Michael Barry came out first and competed for 6 minutes when they were joined by Mason Hunter. At 6 minute intervals Gary Gram and Slam Shady, who had lost his NWA Oklahoma Title match against John O'Malley earlier that night, entered the ring. Shady, Gram and Barry were all eliminated before Rocco entered, but as soon as his music played, shock came across many of the faces in the audience. Rocco entered the ring, threw out Mason Hunter and then made quick work of Warcloud to capture the #1 contendership for himself.

After the match was over, Chris Fox came out to question Charles about this action, but Rocco and Charles double teamed him. Mason Hunter came out, initially appearing to be there to assist Fox, but turned on Fox and joined the assault. Slam Shady quickly joined the attack and powerbombed a bloodied Fox through a table. At that point John O'Malley entered the ring and chased off the other combatants.

Rocco contacted Oklafan and demanded an opportunity to issue a statement regarding his actions: "Oklahoma is my house. NWA Promoter Chris Fox is always talking about how great he is, so when Charming Charles (who is a true gentlemen) called me and said I could have a shot at Fox, I was ready to prove who is the Legend around here. All I had to do was win the Six Shot and the #1 contendership to the NWA Oklahoma title. After I completed my mission, I spilled Chris Fox's blood in true Oklahoma Legend style. Welcome to the Old School, Mr. Fox."

Winning the top contendership has not deterred Rocco from his attention regarding Dexter Hardaway. They were scheduled to meet in a 1-on-1 match May 6, but that show was cancelled. Oklafan believes that the two combatants will meet at the next TPW show on June 3.
