Mitch Carter still in the crosshairs

Mitch Carter still in the crosshairs

Posted: May 8th 2006 By: mikeiles

Mitch Carter continues to be one of the main targets of Ray Martinez and his attempted takeover of SRPW. Carter started off the week in fine fashion, wrestling for Mid-States Wrestling in Fayetteville, Arkansas and continues to be one of that feds rising stars. But after the latest torrential downpour in the city of Tulsa and surrounding areas, Carter had an auto accident on Thursday, May 4th. He was driving down the highway, hit a puddle and hydroplaned into the other lane before rolling his truck twice. His vehicle was totalled but he was unhurt. He showed up at the SRPW show on May 5th ready to wrestle. He was told that Commissioner Martinez had set aside time on the card to address the X Division Title situation. Martinez earlier in the night began referring to the title as the Mex-Division Title. When it was time to confront Carter he appeared to have every inclination to give Carter his rematch. But Martinez had a trick up his sleeve and said that Carter would have to defeat another wrestler in some sort of Gauntlet, and if he was successful, he would get a title match with Martinez. Carter's opponent was his friend and long time mentor, Dexter Hardaway. Neither Carter nor Hardway were willing to face one another but were threatened with dismissal from the company. Both wrestlers gave their all and after Carter hit the Carter Climax on Hardaway, Martinez rang the bell and called the match a No Decision. But Martinez continued his chicanery saying that he was in a giving mood and offered another match, this time against Jake McCoy, who is formerly known as Dirty Harry Sanchez. McCoy was none too happy about his comeback match being against a long time friend either, but he and Carter had to wrestle or be fired. Again, as soon as Carter hit the Carter Climax, Martinez rang the bell and ruled the match a No Decision. But Martinez said he would give Carter one more try and brought out SRPW Heavyweight Champion Shane Morbid. Martinez was sure to tell Carter that his match against Morbid was a non-title match. Morbid got the pinfall on Carter to end any hopes of Carter getting his hands on Martinez. Because of his car accident and three grueling matches at SRPW, Carter had to cancel his appearance in Newcastle, Texas for the first Total Texas Wrestling show in which he was scheduled to tag with Cade Sydal as The Party Express. Cpl. James Warbois filled in for Carter at the TTW show and called their team the J & C Express.
