IZW treats fans to the biggest and best show of the year at Evolution!

Posted: Jun 19th 2008 By: Jason Capotelli

Note: The entire Evolution Show will be available for viewing at www.MySpace.com/IZWrestling starting on June 20th.

For what IZW promised to be their biggest and best show ever in OKC, Evolution was, simply put, AMAZING! The arena was packed full with a sold out crowd of wall to wall people waiting to see if IZW could deliver on its promise and not one of them left disappointed.

The show kicked off with what could be called the match of the night as Jermaine Johnson, Kenny Campbell, Dustin Heritage, Seth Allen and Mitch Carter competed in a Five Way Ladder Match for the Vacant IZW Impact Division Championship. This match was hard hitting and full of high flying moves from the start as each competitor put his body and possibly career on the line to reach the top of the ladder and the Impact Title. Each wrestler took several falls from the ladder and inflicted much pain on each other, as Dustin and Seth would both wear crimson masks of blood. Each wrestler would hit their finisher on one another off the ladder at one point, but in the end, the man that could be considered the greatest Impact Division Champion ever, Kenny Campbell made his way to the top and won the gold! All of these competitors showed themselves to be championship worthy on this night, but Kenny Campbell showed why he is now a 4-time Impact Division Champion.

Next up was the Grudge Match between Se7en and Tyson Jaymes. This was not a wrestling match as these two plain and simple beat each other up right from the start. It was back and forth throughout and both men had their chances to win the match, but in the end just when Tyson Jaymes had Se7en on his shoulders ready to put him away, the monster Carnage entered the ring and when Tyson turned around he was met with a huge chokeslam. After the match Se7en grabbed the mic and began degrading the crowd and Tyson as he called for Carnage to chokeslam Tyson over and over totaling four massive chokeslams. Obviously this is far from over for both men, but if Se7en has Carnage by his side, Tyson may be in for a very bad experience.

The third match of the night pitted former referee Randy Price against John O'Malley in a No DQ Match. Randy Price was undefeated so far in IZW with two very questionable wins over John O?Malley and O?Malley had sworn that Mr. Money would be broke after this match. After watching this match all I can say is, I?m glad I?m not Randy Price. Randy got his shots in on the Juggernaut but in the end after O?Malley powerslammed him off the ring apron to the floor and then drove Randy?s head through a chair with his patented Emerald Driver, O?Malley picked up the 1-2-3 and it took several minutes plus some help for Mr. Money to make it to the back. Maybe from now on, Randy Price will choose he messes with a little more carefully.

Next was the Tag Team Lumberjack Match pitting Gary Tool & Bernie Donderwitz against Brad Michaels & John Zorthos. If Gary & Bernie lost, Gary would have to retire and if Brad and Johnny lost, Johnny Z would give up control of IZW. After some bantering between both teams and a brawl on the outside this match made it into the ring and what ensued was both a classic match and a struggle for survival. It was back and forth in the beginning before Johnny Z and Brad were able to take control and keep Gary away from his corner, but after taking a hell of beating Gary was able to pull out a top rope hurracarana on Brad Michaels. After making the tag to Bernie things got really crazy, Bernie took over nailing Johnny Z and Brad a couple of times before sending Brad out to the lumberjacks, all the lumberjacks began fighting over Brad, and Bernie took the opportunity to come flying off the top rope onto all of them, next Johnny Z went crashing to the floor as he came over the top rope with his own suicide plancha, but not to be out done, Gary Tool moonsaulted onto the entire group from the top rope. After rolling Johnny Z back into the ring it looked as if Gary & Bernie would hit their finisher but out of nowhere Bernie D gave Coach his Sky High and Johnny Z made the cover that ended Gary Tool?s career. After the match the crowd chanted "Thank You Coach" until Gary was in the back. Why did Bernie do it? I don?t know but I?m sure he?ll tell all of us this week.

Right out of intermission the crowd would be treated to a Kendo Sticks on a Pole match for the IZW Tag Team Championships! This match had been building between the champions, The New Age Syndicate (Scott & Shawn Sanders) and Nathan Sensation & Striker for 6 months. These two teams I believe legitimately hate each other and on this night they would end it once and for all. Throughout the match both teams continually attempted to get the Kendo Sticks only to be brought down from the top rope with vicious move after vicious move. Eventually, Striker got a hold of one and the beating ensued, months of pent up anger came pouring out as he attempted to take both the Sanders heads off. The Sanders would eventually get a hold of the Kendo Sticks and lay out some pain as well causing both Nathan and Striker to bleed profusely, but in the end the desire and will of Nathan & Striker would carry them to the win and make them 3 time IZW Tag Team Champions. I sure hope this is over for these two teams because I?m not sure how much more either of them can take after this match.

Now it was time for THE Main Event, former WWE Superstar Al Snow taking on IZW Champion Angel Williams for the IZW Championship. This was simply a great match between two great competitors. The crowd chanted for Al for the first five minutes of the match but then began to chant for both men throughout as they put on a clinic of wrestling. It was a back and forth affair, but in the end just when Al Snow hit Angel with his Snowplow and it looked like we night have a new champion, Michael Barry and Tommy Revell hit the ring to spoil everyone?s evening. Mike Iles on the other hand was not going to let the night be completely ruined as he made a tag match pitting Michael Barry & Tommy Revell against Angel Williams and Al Snow on the spot.

This was one hell of a match as well as Snow and Williams started out laying the beatdown, but Revell and Barry showed true teamwork in taking control of the match and keeping Snow from making the tag. Numerous times throughout it looked as if Barry & Revell were going to pull off the signature win and make a statement for themselves. But during a melee as the referee was getting Revell out of the ring, Al Snow nailed Barry with head and Barry turned right into the Widowmaker's TKO finish. Angel picked up the 1-2-3 and he and Al Snow celebrated with the fans as Michael Barry & Tommy Revell made their way to the back to regroup and try to figure out what?s next for the IZW Heavyweight Champion Angel Williams as I?m sure this is far from over for them.

WOW! One heck of a ride if I must say so myself, many questions were answered, but many new questions were raised. It was by far the show of the year so far in Oklahoma, but now we?ll see what happens this week at the Impact Arena in OKC.

So remember, come out to the Impact Arena Every Saturday Night, two miles north of I-240 on Penn. Admission is only $5, and that is simply The Best Value for your Wrestling Dollar!

IZW...FEEL THE IMPACT!!!
