Gunner Scott shoots to victory on Smackdown
Posted: Apr 10th 2006 By: oklastaff
Gunner Scott defeated former WCW World Champion Booker T in his official debut match on Smackdown Friday night, with a little help from the Boogeyman.
Gunner, who most recently competed under the name Brent Albright, was set to face off against Booker T in the ring. Booker had just delivered a restraining order on the Boogeyman to Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long. According to the order, Boogeyman was not allowed within 100 feet of Booker or his wife, Sharmell.
Booker seemed about to ready to put Gunner away when the Boogeyman?s music began to play, distracting Booker and allowing Gunner to roll Booker up for the pin. After the match, Theodore Long came out and told the crowd that there seemed to have been a malfunction with the sound system that caused Booker?s music to play, then once again announced Gunner as the winner.
After a commercial break, Gunner was seen backstage, happy about his victory. He was joined by former WWE RAW World Champion Chris Benoit, who congratulated him on his victory.
Gunner still wrestles in OVW as Brent Albright and is the current OVW Champion. His last appearance in Tulsa was at an SRPW show on December 5, 2004 when he came to the rescue of Timmy J after he was attacked by the Fraternity of Sin.
