Justin Lee Makes Surprise Return, Wants "His" X Title Back

Posted: Mar 13th 2008 By: CMBurnham

FCW Tag Team Champion Justin Lee had been sidelined since October, but made a shocking and unexpected return Saturday, interrupting a segment with current ComPro Oklahoma X Division Champion Cold Blooded Chris and former champion Shane Morbid.

C. B.. C. had come out to be interviewed by ComPro commissioner Kitty. She had asked him how he felt to be the Oklahoma X Champion, but before he could answer, Shane Morbid and Boss Campbell arrived. They said the C. B. C. had gotten lucky and he wasn't anything. He couldn't even win the belt on his own. Shane had to be hit with a steel chair (although they neglected to mention that it was Boss who used the chair and he was trying to hit C. B. C.) Shane said he was the X Division and also was the most dominant wrestler in the sate. Kitty said she understood his arguement for being the # 1 contender and seemed about to announce some sort of resolution to the issue when familiar music hit and "The Broken Arrow Bad Boy" strode to the ring.

Justin looked just as good as he had the last time he was in the ring, when he defeated Morbid in a Broken Arrow Street Fight to win the Oklahoma X Division Title. He said he proved his worth then and that the other 2 men in the ring didn't measure up to him. While C. B. C. was the current champion, Justin didn't think he had what it took to represent the X Division. He had slightly more complimentary things to say about Shane Morbid, saying that he had intensity and passion, but he still didn't embody what the X Division was about. The X Division is about defending that title every night and as far as Justin is concerned, it's still his. He never lost it in the ring. He had to forfeit it due to inuries suffered in the Broken Arrow Street Fight. Now, he wants it back.

Kitty was quick to step in and announce a Triple Threat Match for this Saturday when Cold Blooded Chris will defend the ComPro Oklahoma X Division Title against Shane Morbid and Justin Lee. While everyone wants the X Division Title, perhaps there's a little more at stake here as well, since it seems that everyone has something to prove.

Justin has always been the epitome of what the X Division is in Oklahoma. He's held X Titles in ComPro and NWA-U, where he holds the record for the longest X Division Title reign of anyone in the company. He held both titles twice, winning the NWA-U X Title from Gary Gram and Shane Morbid and defeating 4 other men to become the first ComPro Oklahoma X Champion, then regaining it from Shane. Several people have criticised Justin's toughness as well as whether he deserves to have a title shot so quickly after a 6 month absence from the ring. In a statement posted on the ComPro message board, Justin explained the severity of his injuries and why it has taken him so long to return. He agrees that perhaps he should have had a match or 2 to get off the ring rust, but he felt he would be a fool to pass up a title shot when Kitty put one in front of him.

Shane Morbid is also a multiple-time X Division Champion, holding X belts in ComPro, NWA-U and SRPW. While not posessing the classic X Division build, he certainly has the agility and desire that many of the X competitors display. For most of the past 8 months, if Justin wasn't holding the Oklahoma X title, Shane was. He brings a hard-hitting style to the division and is certainly a threat to anyone who gets in his way of recovering the belt.

If anyone is an outsider to the X Division, it's Cold Blooded Chris. He outweighs most X Division competitors by almost 200 lbs. He is not a high-flyer nor a techincal wizard. But his sheer size and massive build make most of the typical X Division strategies ineffective against him. If anyone has something to prove in this match, it's C. B. C. While he did pin Shane on 3 seperated occassions on his way to win the belt, none of those victories were clear-cut 1-on-1 situations. This match won't be 1-on-1 either, but at this point, C. B. C. is simply trying to escape the adage that says winning the belt is easy, defending it is hard.

Which of these competitors will come out of the main event Saturday with the gold? Justin wants to regain what he feels he never truly lost. Shane wants to reclaim what he believes he was cheated out of. And C. B. C. wants to hold onto what it took a long time for him to acheive. All 3 men know each other very well, as they were all members of ICF at one point in their careers. On paper, no one appears to have a clear advantage. But somewhere in one of them, there's an "X" factor that will make itself known Saturday. And that wrestler will walk away with the championship gold.
