WWE legend says he has re-signed with company following AEW departure

Jake “The Snake” Roberts says he has re-signed with WWE.

Roberts confirmed he was no longer employed with AEW during an interview with Bill Apter in May. He had been with the company since March 2020.

During a recent appearance on Nick Club Wrestling Happy Hour, hosted by Nick Teodoro, Roberts said he re-signed with WWE and is “just enjoying life, man.”

Roberts said:

“Staying busy. Not in AEW anymore. Re-signed with WWE, doing some stuff for them and just enjoying life, man.”

Roberts also mentioned during the interview that he feels AEW could make better use of its roster and specifically mentioned Lance Archer, who he used to manage, as somebody who has never received the opportunity he deserves.

"Tony Khan needs to loosen up the reins a little bit and take some advice. He’s got a good product. He’s got a lot of talent in there. I think his talent could be used better. Just my own thoughts. I loved working for Tony Khan. I don’t wish him nothing but the best. He’s a sweet guy.”

On Archer, Roberts said:

“It was the perfect pairing. We had everything that we needed. And he is such an unbelievable talent. He has never gotten the break he deserves. He really hasn’t. It’s a damn shame. Really is.”

During SummerSlam weekend, Roberts also participated in a WWE and Fanatics meet-and-greet. He was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame Class of 2014.
