MVP denies claims Hurt Syndicate refused to put wrestlers over in AEW

Posted: Oct 25th 2026 By: Ian Carey

MVP is refuting the rumors that the Hurt Syndicate have refused to put people over in AEW.

In a series of social media posts on Saturday, MVP stated that he had seen lies being reported about him, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley.

MVP wrote:

"So I open up Twitter to see lies being reported about The Hurt Syndicate. BLATANT LIES!!! Who is the source of these lies? To the contrary, we wanted to work with younger talent! We wanted to drop the tag titles BACK to Private Party!!! STOP BELIEVING THE BS!”

He had earlier responded to an article referencing comments made about Hurt Syndicate not wanting to put people over, and the group’s AEW run essentially being over by writing:

"This is a blatant lie! ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE!!!!! Who is your source????”

MVP then responded to a user on X who claimed a Swerve Strickland vs. Bobby Lashley rematch wasn’t happening due to “creative differences.” The user’s post also included a screenshot of an earlier rumor alleging that MVP had backstage heat and the Hurt Syndicate refused to put other wrestlers over.

MVP wrote:

“Rumor? Nah man. You are absolutely Wrong!!!! None of this is true. But now I know where this whisper campaign is coming from!”

MVP then concluded:

“Anyway, I hope most you have a magnificent Saturday! Those of you lying and spreading gossip founded on BS, have the day you deserve!”

The last time the Hurt Syndicate wrestled was at the AEW All In Buy-In show at Wembley Stadium in London on August 30. Lashley and Benjamin teamed with Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall in a win over Shane Taylor Promotions’ Carlie Bravo, Lee Moriarty, Shane Taylor, and Shawn Dean.

The Hurt Syndicate also teamed with Chris Jericho, Jack Perry, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks in a win over the Don Callis Family, The Demand and The Dogs in the Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York on May 24.
