Luke Gallows recalls being pulled from WWE developmental for fake Kane role

Back in 2006, Luke Gallows made his WWE debut as the fake Kane.
Almost 20 years ago, in May 2026, Gallows appeared on WWE RAW as an imposter Kane and attacked the original one. Wearing Kane’s Attitude Era signature red attire and mask, Gallows involved himself in a rivalry against the veteran.
Recently appearing on The Wrestling Classic, Gallows reflected on the incident and shared how he was pulled from WWE developmental for the feud.
“About that, too. But that’s such a weird one, too, because people have this memory of it, and most didn’t like it. Obviously, I didn’t love it either, but, like, I was 22 years old. I was in developmental, just in class one day. They plucked me out of class and pulled me in there, and they go, ‘You’re gonna go to Monday Night Raw and be the fake Kane.’ I go, ‘I can’t do that.’ And they go, ‘Well, you have to.’ And I go, ‘What? No, I’m not ready to do that.’
“So, I mean, I wrestled Kane and beat him on a pay-per-view when I was 22 years old. And I felt like I was the greenest guy in developmental, but, I mean, they sent him down there, and I worked on his moves and stuff. So it was just a weird whirlwind, like, five-week thing, and it still gets brought up,” Gallows shared.
“Especially the terrible wig on the debut. They gave me, like, Gene Simmons hair instead of, like, [Glenn] Jacobs’ hair. It was very strange. People do ask about it, though. People do ask.”
After involving himself in a rivalry against Kane, the two faced off against each other at the Vengeance PPV. However, a night later, the storyline came to an abrupt end.
Gallows and Anderson were a part of the WWE roster before they were released in 2025.
