AEW announcer and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is now successfully done with the surgery.
Ross was scheduled to undergo a brain shunt surgery and is now done with it. On Saturday, August, Ross shared a photo of his brain surgery scar. The wrestling industry veteran underwent the brain surgery on Wednesday, August 12.
On Tuesday, August 11, via social media, Ross had shared detailed but graphic information about his surgery. He claimed that the procedure would require a hole being drilled into his skull and many other details.
Throughout 2026, Ross has battled multiple health issues, including a scary fall, a month-long hospitalization, and others. His health problems also limited his announcing duties with AEW. Ross last appeared at AEW Double or Nothing, and now hopes to appear at AEW All In London.
Despite the scheduled surgery, Ross made his way to Minneapolis for WrestleCon. While he hopes to attend AEW All In in London, his contract with the promotion remains doubtful. As per the veteran himself, he is yet to sign a new deal, while his current contract is expected to expire this month.
