Ricky Saints teases challenging for AAA title
Posted: Aug 9th 2026 By: Ian Carey
Ricky Saints appears to have his eyes set on the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship.
In a WWE digital exclusive posted on Saturday, Cathy Kelley interviewed Rey Fenix about his inclusion in the upcoming tournament to determine a challenger for Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship. Saints interrupted the interview and told Fenix that he needed to concentrate on being the Cruiserweight Champion or he would take the title from him.
Fenix won the AAA title by defeating Laredo Kid at Noche de los Grandes on May 30. He most recently defended it on the July 31 episode of WWE SmackDown, defeating JD McDonagh.
As for Saints, he wrestled three matches in July that aired on Main Event. The last time he wrestled on SmackDown or a premium live event was his loss to Trick Williams in a United States title match at Night of Champions on June 27. Prior to that, Saints defeated Carmelo Hayes in a number one contenders match on the June 19 episode of SmackDown to earn the title shot.
