SICW and MidStates Championship Wrestling: A partnership built on respect

Posted: Jun 21st 2026 By: Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling

For more than five decades, Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling has believed that professional wrestling is at its best when promotions work together to strengthen the industry, support one another, and provide fans with the very best entertainment possible. That philosophy was on full display recently when SICW Promoter Herb Simmons was invited to Springfield, Missouri, by Midstates Championship Wrestling.

Simmons was honored to join Midstates announcer Chris and help call the action before a capacity crowd. The atmosphere inside the building was electric from start to finish, proving once again why Midstates Championship Wrestling has become one of the premier independent wrestling organizations in the Midwest.

"Everyone at SICW has the utmost respect for The Space Cowboy Jason Jones and his entire staff," said Simmons. "Jason runs a top-notch professional wrestling promotion. His dedication, hard work, and commitment to the fans are second to none."

The evidence is easy to see. Midstates Championship Wrestling continues to draw tremendous crowds made up of loyal fans who support the promotion month after month. Their recent sellout crowd demonstrated exactly what can happen when a wrestling organization consistently delivers quality matches, professional presentation, and respect
for the fans who support them.

The relationship between SICW and Midstates Championship Wrestling is built on mutual respect, friendship, and a shared vision of preserving the traditions of professional wrestling while continuing to build for the future. Both organizations understand the importance of creating family-friendly events where fans of all ages can enjoy great wrestling action.

SICW would like to publicly thank Jason Jones, Chris, the entire Midstates Championship Wrestling staff, and their incredible fans for the warm hospitality and invitation. It was truly an honor to be part of such a successful event.
If you are in the Springfield, Missouri area on August 8th, make plans now to attend Midstates Championship Wrestling at the Relics Event Center and experience firsthand why so many fans continue to support one of the hottest promotions in the Midwest.

That same evening, Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling will be part of the Little Devils Fundraiser in Belleville, Illinois, featuring an outstanding night of Wrestling at the Chase-style action. Fans will witness SICW Classic Champion "Strictly Business" Brandon Barretta defend his championship against Belleville's own Bobby D in a highly anticipated Texas Death Match, a bout that promises to be one of the most intense encounters of the year.

And before that, join SICW on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the East Carondelet Illinois Community Center, 823 State Street, East Carondelet, Illinois, for another exciting evening of old-school professional wrestling.
