SOD casting his shadow over TPW

SOD casting his shadow over TPW

Posted: Mar 13th 2006 By: oklastaff

Former OCW & TPW Hardcore Champion the Shadow of Death has been inactive for about a year and a half, but that looks to be changing if recent activity is anything to judge on.

SOD relenquished his TPW Hardcore title to then-TPW Commissioner Ray Martinez back on August 20, 2004, citing a lack of qualified competition. Since that time, he?s been acting as security at TPW functions, but has not stepped in the ring to compete.

Things apparently began to change at the beginnnig of February with the arrival of Rancid to TPW. Rancid?s look and behaviour can be classified as "SOD-esque"e, but there was no direct challenge by Rancid to SOD. He was more interested in fellow newcomer Michael York, who made his pro debut at the FCW show in Muskogee, winning a match over SRPW X Division Champion Mitch Carter. Rancid was also on that card, but had no direct conflict with Mr. York.

Rancid and York faced off against each other on March 4 and were involved in a fairly competitive match, when SOD made a surprise return. He did not involve himself in the match, choosing instead to simply stand at ringside and observe as York went on to defeat Rancid. But the next week, Rancid posted several messages on the TPW message board, claiming he could "feel SOD getting into his head". On March 11, Rancid and Mike York squared off again and once again, SOD came out to ringside. Again, York came up with the victory. But this time, after the match was over, SOD stepped into the ring and faced down Rancid. He then went over, punched Mike York and left.

So whose side is SOD on? Probably only his own. His intentions remain unknown at this time, but he obviously has some beef with Rancid (and possibly Mike York). Oklafan will bring you more information as it is revealed to us.
