Sting files for two trademarks relating to early career

A couple of years after his retirement, Sting has now filed for two new trademarks related to his career’s early years.

On Monday, March 9, 2026, Sting filed to trademark “Flash Borden” and “Blade Runner Sting” for goods and services: shirts; sweatshirts; hooded sweatshirts; hats; bandanas; and socks.

The description for the above filed trademarks read: “Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.“

According to USPTO, Flash Borden was first used in December 1984, while Blade Runner Sting was first used on December 28, 1985.

He started his pro wrestling career in 1985 as Flash in Memphis and later joined The Blade Runners as Blade Runner Sting on MSW Mid-South Wrestling TV.
