UWF06's "St. ViolenTime Massacre" Recap
Posted: Feb 19th 2008 By: CMBurnham
The weather was nasty, cold and rainy. The trip going up I-35 was daunting coming up to the UWF06 show in Ardmore, OK. With a title like "St. ViolenTime Massacre", I had to brave the weather to come see this show. The wind pushed my Toyota around and the rain was merciless as I left San Antonio, Texas for the show. A long trip but I was well rewarded. Once I got to the "UWF06 Arena", I noticed alot of fans were lined up to get in to the bldg. braveing the rain and wind to get a good seat. All the hype was born with the previous show success and the great amount of publicity the company's putting forth. If you did not get there early, you were hard pressed to find a seat as the 306 fans filled the 330 seat arena to near capacity. Hopefully all 445 chairs will have to be put out and used in the near future as this company continues to rapidly grow.
UWF06's "Sat. Nite Riot's" music hit and the crowd began their cheers and out comes Joshua Smith and the new UWF06 Championship Committee Chairman Randi Lynn. She is carrying a brief case to reveal the two new belts to be awarded tonight to the winners of the "Dual Kombat Division" championhip match. The match up is between "2AM" (2 Angry Men) which is Kunna Keyoh and "Hellacious" Javi Hernandez vs. "High Society" (Thomas Trump and " The Gifted" Eric Rose.) After that being said, Randi Lynn takes her place at the anouncers table next to Josh and "Bam Bam" Earl Kennedy.
The first match took place between "The Brawler" Shane Rawls and "The Homodor" El Culo Intruso. I'm thinking what a mismatch with Rawls putting up with all the antics of the "strange one" as he tried to kiss the referee, the ring announcer and all the men folk near ring side until he faced "Bam Bam" who stood up and raised his big fist. Culo of course, backed off and finally go into the ring to face Rawls. The Brawler made short work of him, pinning him to the mat for the 1 - 2 - 3!
The "Violent Division" Champion Bundy came on next to defend his title against Menace 2 Society in a hard core match using chairs, cookie sheets, or whatever they could find. M2S started beating Bundy mercifully and opened his head. Blood came down his head and in his face as the match went out into the crowd. Recovering somewhat, he began to get the upper hand when suddenly out came Al Farat. The hardcore match stipulations say nothing about outside help thus the belt changed hands with M2S winning by pinfall. Once he was announced as the winner the committie chairman Randi Lynn comes out to impose a 24/7 stipulation, meaning that he would have to defend the title at any time and in any place. M2S went into a fit over that ruling. I will relate that as it comes into play in sequence.
Next up the "Femme Fatale" Champion Frankie Dee comes to the ring declaring that her opponents are evidentally affraid of the "Diva Destroyer" as a result then she should have the night off. Not so, says the committee chairman Randi Lynn. She is reminded how she attacked "Nurse Mysti" a few shows ago and told her that she was going to face her tonight. Now known as "Mysti Meanor", she came out, all 99 pounds of her. She fared well but she was not yet equal to the "Diva Destroyer" tonight, she was pinned in about 8 mins.
Now it was D Money vs. Prince Al Farat. It is a continuance of the fued that started in 2006. When Farat came onto the stage the crowd starts in on him and doesn't let up until the match begins. The mob was relentless yelling WHAT? each time he began to speak. As this was taking place the former 2 time "UWF06 Heavyweight Champion" D Money came onto the stage behind Farat. At this time Farat sensed a presence behind him and thinking it was M2S tapping him on the shoulder, told him without looking back of course, "not now, I'm gonna give this hillbilly crowd a piece of my mind!" He eventually realized who it was behind him and began to slowly remove his turban and robe. Turning cautiously to face the person behind him, the two begin to slug it out all over the UWF06 Arena. They boo him all through the match especially when he is up to his devious tricks. D Money really gives him what he deserves until interference comes in the form of Menace 2 Society. The result is Farat is disqualified but that doesn't stop the two from pulverizing the helpless D Money. Suddenly Thug Nasty comes from the back to rescue his partner chasing the maurauders from the ring. The angry audience gets really nasty with Farat and M2S taunting and cussing at them. Josh Smith was ringside when around the ring came Farat who has past issues with him and others present at the show as he was swinging at the ref, Randi Lynn and security. Raising a chair to defend himself and Randi Lynn, Josh backed off the invaders. The crowd errupted as D Money and Thug Nasty chased them up the ramp. On one occassion a man from the audience raised his fists ans started swinging at the two heels. Another woman near by was saying that she would scratch out Farat's eyes. The wrestling merchandise vendor there, a 70 year old man, became infuriated with anger and swung a chair at the two. You see, some time ago "The Crown Prince" bought a wrestling mask from him at a regular price to cover his face from burns he had recieved by the hands of Montego Seeka as payback for a burn suffered to him by Farat. Well, Farat thought that he should have be given a discounted price and remembering this he began calling the vendor a thief. However, the vendor's rage was twofold due to Farat charging his Josh Smith who happens to be his son. Security had their hands full keeping the two vicious men from being attacked by the angry crowd. Finally things settled down, that would have been enough for any normal fan to withstand but just as
The crowd was getting settled back in their seats, Josh Smith announces that the next match was a "Dynasty Family Fued!" It seems that there were issues from the last show during the "Dual Kombat Division" matches between members of "Dynasty." "The Mayne Event" Les Mayne came out to help and use a chair to take out the other team and inadvertantly struck "The Great Dane" or was it really that he wanted to be the one to tag with "The Boss" so he took out Dane Griffin instead? What ever the reason, the family decides to allow the two settle the issue in the ring. Dane Griffin was to face Les Mayne accompanied by a visibaly shaken Frankie Dee. The special referee was to be Jerry "The Boss" Bostic. He seems to be calling it "down the middle." Things progress and suddenly Bostic seems to be counting extremely fast when both Mayne and Dane are being pinned causing some major confussion as to who "The Boss" is with. After some time exchanging near pins, Griffin pins Mayne on a quick count and after Bostic interferes. It was here that Bostic decides to teach Mayne a lesson taking their frustrations out on him due to his interferance in last weeks match with Frankie also getting involved and spearing Mayne. Awesome matches so far but it was not over.
Incredibly during intermission while the wrestlers came out to meet and greet the fans, out from under the ring came a man in a black mask and attacked Menace 2 Society pinning him and winning the "Violent Division" title. I thought at first that it might have been an audience member or something but it turned out to be a man that goes by the name "Masked Renegade Kowboy." He had never wrestled here before. Anyway after all this excitment during the intermission a man from New York who was here on a job assingment and who was sitting next to me said that he goes to wrestling shows all over the northeast coast when he's back home and that this is better than anything he has ever seen there on the indy scene there. That's when I told him where I'd come from and he thought this has to be some show for me to come all that distance for it. I let him know that I also go to other shows in Oklahoma as a vendor and fan and that I too feel that this is truly one of the best indy companies around. There was more to come. It was time to crown the "Dual Kombat Division" champions. "2AM" (Kuna and Javi) entered the ring and really took it to "High Society" (Trump and Rose). They were determined to win the tag team championship and be the inaugural champs here in the UWF06. However that was not the only match going on at that moment. The Masked Renegade Kowboy tried to leave the arena when he was jumped by Kunna and pinned to take the "Violent Division" title in the 24/7 deal. Already that was three changes with that title for the night. Now it was his turn to keep an eye on his back. "2 AM" won the titles but "High Society" gave them a great fight.
Finally the main event has been announced pitting the high flying "UWF06 Champion" Ky-ote Joe Herell against the power house Thug Nasty. It was a classic match where Thug showed some high flying ability himself. Ultimately Ky-ote retained his championship pinning Thug to the mat but not without the help of Shane Rawls who has been coming out to his aid in the past few matches. Suddenly...Bam! Shane leaves Ky-ote laid out. So I guess that means it's not over between these two.
Oh and the man from New York? He was so impressed that he told me that he was going to be there for the next 2 shows since he won't be going home till as long as his job assignment continued here in Oklahoma. The next shows in the UWF06 Arena are on the 1st,15th and 29th of March. Check out the video clips off what happened on www.officialuwf.com later on this week.
This show had me hyped up and I wanted more but instead I'll just have to wait two weeks so in the meantime it's off to San Antonio and until next time this has been "Big Daddy Jones" on the beat!
