Posted: Oct 19th 2025 By: Ian Carey
Rikishi reportedly underwent an unexpected surgery recently.
According to a report from PWInsider, the 60-year-old’s surgery was in response to a health issue that occurred suddenly. However, no additional details are available regarding the nature of the procedure. Rikishi is expected to make an announcement in the near future and is said to have pulled out of multiple bookings.
Rikishi’s status was addressed on last night’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez.
“I think that he’s having emergency surgery, so best wishes to him,” Meltzer said on the show.
“Best wishes to him, of course,” Alvarez added.
Real name Solofa Fatu Jr., Rikishi is the father of eight, including WWE’s Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa. He co-owns the Knokx Pro Wrestling Academy in Los Angeles, which lost its WWE ID certification following the Raja Jackson/Syko Stu incident earlier this summer. Rikishi was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.
