The Mt. Rushmore of 1980s Women's Professional Wrestling - Leilani Kai

We have arrived at the final addition to my personal Mt. Rushmore of female wrestling, and I had so much fun putting these together. Let me first say that WGD appreciates all the comments and discussion. Sharing your thoughts on who should be on the monument gave me an idea.
Tomorrow I am going to share the Readers' Choice Mt. Rushmore. I'm tabulating all the comments and votes and will announce your choices for the top four tomorrow. It's only fair. So, get those comments in today if you want your favorite girl on the list.
Now, to the task at hand. The final addition to our Mt. Rushmore is my choice for best overall female wrestler of the 1980s. For me, as for many of you, there was never any question. Leilani Kai belongs in the conversation for Greatest of All Time.
Her career speaks for itself. I'm going to mostly limit my comments to one simple fact. Without Leilani Kai and a short list of others there is no Wrestlemania as we know it today. Leilani co-headlined the very first Wrestlemania when women in the sport were still considered a novelty in many areas. The Rock n' Wrestling angle with Cyndi Lauper forever thrust wrestling into the mainstream. Leilani and Wendi Richter were there at the epicenter of it all.
Leilani Kai participated again in Wrestlemania a decade later. Her match with Madusa- Alundra Blayze-at Wrestlemania 10 shows just how talented Kai is in the ring. With less than five minutes to perform, Kai and Blayze delivered an entertaining match that is still talked about today.
Of course, let us not forget Leilani's extensive time in Japan where she defeated Chigusa Nagayo for the All Pacific Title. Back in the states, Kai would team with longtime friend Judy Martin to form the Glamour Girls and capture the WWF Women's Tag Team titles.
From the beginning until her retirement, everything about Leilani Kai's career speaks of excellence and dedication. Today, she loves interacting with her fans on social media and sharing old wrestling stories.
