Hall of Fame professional wrestler, Jeff Jarrett, rang the bell for The Salvation Army in Hendersonville to help raise $2 million.
The Salvation Army National Commander has issued a challenge for all locations across the country to see who can raise the most dollars in a single kettle within a 4-hour window on Saturday. And Jarrett, a Hendersonville native and who serves on the Salvation Army board lent his support.
"This time of year, a lot of people don't understand but the Salvation Army, this basically about a six-week period is where we raise funds that really carry us through all twelve months. In the world we live in, people are going through a tough time in life, experiencing homelessness, the Salvation Army is really there with a helping hand to get folks back on their feet."
Red Kettle Campaign funds help support families and individuals in the community through rent and utility assistance, meals, shelter, and housing navigation assistance.
