Ethan Page to defend WWE NXT title on CW premiere episode
Posted: Sep 2nd 2024 By: Bryan Rose
Ethan Page has his next title defense set.
During Sunday’s NXT No Mercy premium live event, general manager Ava announced that whoever won between Ethan Page and Joe Hendry in the main event would defend the NXT Championship on October 1, when NXT premieres on the CW Network.
Page successfully retained the title after hitting Hendry with a DDT on the NXT title and an Ego’s Edge, with guest referee Trick Williams counting to three.
After the match, Pete Dunne arrived at ringside and dragged Williams out of the ring, giving him the bitter end on the floor. The last moments of No Mercy saw Dunne staring down Page, who continued celebrating his win.
NXT’s move to the CW is just one of three moves WWE is making in the next few months. The last episode of SmackDown on Fox will air this coming Friday, as it will move to the USA Network on September 13. Raw will leave cable television for the first time at the end of the year, moving to Netflix starting on January 6.
