Who Was That Masked Man? The Mysterious Dr. X.

In wrestling history, there have been at least 21 men who adopted the moniker of Dr X. Some were preliminary wrestlers, jobbers to the stars. Others were main eventers who wanted to keep their identities secret. Let’s take a closer look at the mysterious Dr. X and the men that portrayed him.
1. Tom Prichard-Prichard is known as a Bodydonna, a Heavenly Body and several other names in his long career. Trainer to many current stars like Edge and Kurt Angle.
2. Clemente Marcelino Valencia Nájera-Wrestled in Mexico in the 90’s. Was murdered in 2011.
3. Richard John Beyer-Better known as the Destroyer in the 70’s. Won many major titles, several in Japan.
4. Jacob Grobbe-Known by several other names in his career, most notably Hans Mortier.
5. William M. Miller-Better known as Dr Bill Miller, a former world champion.
6. Bob Harmon-Better known as Beautiful Bobby, master of the figure four leglock. One of the first (if not the first) to use entrance music.
7. Gilligan Gordon-Better known in the UK.
8. James Osborn-Unmasked by Danny Hodge in 1972.
9. Randy Adrian Colley-He’s been an Assassin, a Moondog, a Nightmare and a founding member for Demolition. Mainly a tag team wrestler.
10. Michael Eugene Lydia-Prelim wrestler known as Mike Fever in WCW.
11. Gordon George Nelson-Other identities include Mr. Wrestling and the Masked Terror. Won several tag titles with men like Mr. Wresting II and Thunderbolt Patterson.
12. Don Muraco-Was Dr X for a short time in Georgia. Unmasked by Dusty Rhodes and Tommy Rich in 1982.
13. Tommy O’Toole-Mostly wrestled under a mask in the 1950-1960’s.
14. Harold Calvin Myers-Better known as Sonny Myers, a multiple time champion in places like Missouri and Texas.
15. Ron Sanders-Wrestled sporadically in the 1960-1970’s. Preliminary wrestler.
16. Curtis Breslaw-Another Doink the Clown in the independent circuit. Only wrestled a handful of matches.
17. Blackjack Luka- Wrestled a handful of matches in the Ohio area in the 1970’s.
18. Mike Burnell-Wrestled as Dr.X in New Mexico in the 1960’s.
19. Ray Steele-Only wrestled 4 years in Canada and the US. Prelim wrestler.
20. William Grundy Davis-Wrestled as the Black Panther, the Masked Marvel and others, from 1930 through the 1960’s.
21. Jay S. York-Better known as the Alaskan. Wrestled in the AWA, Calgary and Hawaii among other areas.
