MVP posts statement on his WWE tenure: ‘What a ride’

As MVP’s most recent WWE tenure appears to be drawing to a close, the former United States Champion has posted a statement on his run with the company.
In an Instagram post Wednesday, MVP wrote at length about his run, which the star notes he originally thought was a one-off on his way to retirement, but instead turned into a four-year journey with multiple facets.
MVP wrote:
I came back so my baby boy could see “Daddy” in a WWE ring. “The Royal Rumble.” That’s all I wanted. A one off. I was ready to retire. Then, I received an offer to become a producer. The pandemic hit. I became a producer AND a commentator for Main Event. Next, they asked me to put the boots on and help out with TV during the “PC Era”. One episode of RAW, “MVP” was in NINE segments! Heyman agreed to put me and Roberto together. I signed a full time talent contract.
And then we made history.
What a ride!!!!
Dave Meltzer reported earlier this week that MVP and Bobby Lashley are expected to leave WWE when their contracts expire “relatively soon,” and that the duo hope to restart The Hurt Business stable outside of WWE, perhaps in AEW.
