ComPro Champ "Dressed" For Romero's Success

ComPro Champ "Dressed" For Romero's Success

Posted: Jan 10th 2008 By: CMBurnham

The growing feud between ComPro Champion Anthony Jackson and FCW Tag Team Champion Romero Contreras took a step into the embarrassing this past Saturday. ComPro fans who show up this week will see their champion and his fellow Hall of Famers looking more like they belong in the Hall of Shame as they will all be forced to wear dresses for the duration of the show.

At the last ComPro show of 2007 (and the last show to be held at the old COMPOUND Arena), Jackson was forced to face Contreras in a Fans Bring the Weapons Match. But that wasn't enough for Contreras. During the opening segment, he added an additional stipulation to the match. If he lost, he would wear a dress to the next show. But if Jackson lost, all the members of the Hall of Famers would be sporting evening gowns. Jackson agreed, after much complaining, and the match was set for the main event.

The match was everything the fans expected and more. Loads of plunder was brought by the fans, including cookie sheets, a tire iron and even a plastic "Jay" doll (of Jay & Silent Bob fame). The match also saw the return to ringside of Oklahoma Legend Rocco Valentino and he didn't come empty handed. He brought out a door (!!), a ladder and a table for the fun. The locker room emptied as everyone wanted to witness the fun and some of the other wrestlers got involved. Shane Morbid brought a trash can full of stuff and the Greatest Bolo went to the trouble of buying a ticket so that his trash can full of material would be legal for Jackson to use, since it wasn't likely that anyone else would supply "All Action" with anything.

After both men got their hits in, Jackson was collapsed over a trash can, then rolled up by Contreras for referee Mike Two to make the final count. But this turned out to be a controversial decision as Jackson's foot was on the ropes while the count was being made. The ComPro message board filled quickly as Jackson's few fans protested the decision while Jackson-haters proclaimed Romero a hero as the first person to ever defeat Jackson in this type of match. While it was true in OPW, OCW & TPW that you had to be inside the ropes to gain a pin in a hardcore match, that rule did not carry over into ComPro and that announcement was made by Romero when he entered ComPro's new home at Sheridan Avenue Christian Church for the first show of 2008.

Jackson arrived with his fellow Hall of Famers to give support to Rico Suave as he took on ComPro Tag Team Champion Sudden Impact 2. It didn't help as once again, Rico found himself staring at the ceiling. But that wasn't the issue on everyone's mind and after Contreras came out and cleared up the "foot on the ropes" controversy, he then offered up a concession. Since there was so much arguement about the winner of the match, he proposed a regular match between the two men. Again, the loser of the match would have to wear a dress. Jackson refused, saying that Contreras had already had his chance. Contreras then said he would face one of the other Hall of Famers, even suggesting that it should be the Greatest Bolo, since Rico had already wrestled that night. Again, Jackson begged off. So, in a final bid, Contreras suggested that Jackson AND Bolo face him in a tag team match with a partner of his choosing. Initially, it looked like Jackson would refuse this challenge as well, but after much taunting from the audience, Jackson agreed. Contreras took the microphone and went back to the dressing room to ask for a partner. Apparently, there was a great rush for this chance as Romero could be heard to say, "Alright, alright, settle down....don't everyone shoot their hand up at once!". A decision was made and Romero revealed his partner to be...Blake Albright! The match was made official by commissioner Kitty and the fans awaited the main event.

Despite having a chance for redemption, the Hall of Famers once again fell short as, after a match that saw plenty of interference from Rico Suave on the rookie Albright, Romero was tagged in and hit the Kool-Aid Krunch on Jackson, scoring another pin. Once more, Contreras proved that he could beat Jackson and deserved another title shot. But more importantly, all 3 Hall of Famers would now have to go raid their wives' closets to find something appropriate to wear next Saturday. And Contreras promised us, as he stood over a prone Jackson, that there would be no way out of their humiliation. He would be bringing dresses as backup just in case the three tried to weasel their way out of their embarrassment.
