OG Seeka Represents His People at Prison Show

They say you can't go home again. And while Montego Seeka may not have ever called Harp Correctional Centre in Lexington, Oklahoma his place of residence, he shared a bond with the inmates there who were present when UWO presented a special show on June 1st.

Seeka was one of 12 wrestlers who put on matches for select inmates at the centre. It was the first time there had been a show there since at least the early 1990s, possibly even earlier. And while outreach was the main reason for the event, Seeka also wanted to connect with the people he represented in the ring. Since launching his solo career after the death of his partner, Jermaine Johnson, Seeka had developed a tougher side, calling himself "The OG of Oklahoma". This brought him lots of championship gold both in Oklahoma and in Texas and he recently had ended an 8-month reign as EPW Champion.

Seeka now looked to establish some new fans and perhaps add some more gold to his resume, so his participation in the main event of this UWO spectacular was designed to kick that part of his career off. But before he could make his entrance in the match, his opponent, UWO Dojo Division Champion Colton Kinnamon and his manager C. M. Burnham made their way to the ring.

Burnham announced to the crowd that the main event had arrived and put over Kinnamon and his accolades. He told the crowd that he knew they were anticipating a championship match in the main event and after the crowd roared their appreciation, he informed them that that was exactly why they weren't getting that match. Burnham explained that Kinnamon had been forced to face his opponent in a "Prison Rules" match. Exactly what the rules for that kind of match were was unstated, though the general assumption was that there were no disqualifications or countouts and any weapons were legal. When Burnham announced to the crowd that he and his associate had pristine records and did not fight under prison rules, that brought Montego Seeka to the ring. Seeka immediately started putting the beating to Kinnamon, inside and outside of the ring, as Burnham attempted to stay out of the way and provide words of encouragement. Eventually, the tide would turn and Kinnamon found himself in control of the match. He and Burnham positioned a chair in the corner but before Kinnamon could use it on Seeka, the "OG" turned things in his favour and took back control of the match. Things continued to go in Seeka's way until Kinnamon got the upper hand and went to spear Seeka into the chair wedged in the corner. But Seeka leapfrogged Kinnamon and the champion collided headfirst into that same chair, knocking him temporarily senseless.

Seeka then began to pull down the zipper of his uniform, which brought Burnham up onto the apron to struggle with him. Burnham, who is no stranger to controversy, had heard that Seeka carried a shank with him in the outfit and did not want to see Kinnamon get hurt more severely than had already happened. This gave Kinnamon the opportunity to recover and blindside Seeka and now, the champion called for his associate to enter the ring and knock Seeka out with the cane he brought to ringside. But Seeka moved and the cane did its damage to Kinnamon. Burnham, seeing that there was no hope for him to turn this around, rolled out of the ring as Seeka yelled "It's a shank!" and connected with an intense clothesline, pinning the Dojo Division Champion in the middle of the ring.

The joyous cheers of the crowd, who had been hot and into the action all day, resounded around the field where the ring was set up and Seeka went out to mingle amongst his people. Sadly, Seeka is not eligible to challenge for the Dojo Division Title in a regular UWO event, but perhaps he can get his earned title opportunity if he shows up to one of the UWO TV tapings where that title is exclusively defended. Whatever the case, Seeka made a lot of people happy and the entire UWO group gave many people hope and caused them to forget about their situation for a little over an hour. And that is what professional wrestling is all about anyway.
