NEWS
Afa Anoa'i announced the closing of his WXW promotion with the final show being April 13th. He has been promoting since 1984.

Braun Strowman, Natalya, and Jinder Mahal were sent to Saudi Arabia this weekend for the opening of “WWE Experience” there.

Rob Van Dam posted a video of his unboxing of a new singlet he debuted for his match on “AEW Dynamite” in Tulsa. You can watch the video by clicking here.

It was reportedly "very chaotic" backstage at “AEW Dynamite” and “AEW Rampage” Wednesday night in Tulsa due to several unplanned absences from the show, including the sad news of Sting's father passing away. Dave Meltzer said “Sting was supposed to be on the show but his father died, so that's why Ric Flair was there, because Sting was supposed to be there. There were a couple of other people. Jeff Hardy was supposed to be on the show in a key role. One of the reasons that so little was announced was because they didn't know if Sting would be able to come, Jeff Hardy, and Trent Beretta was supposed to do a singles match with Orange Cassidy - I have no idea why but it had been built up. Not announced because they announced that Trent Beretta was injured, and they had done an injury thing on the show, but he was actually ill and they were waiting until basically today, and that's when they put Mike Bennett in that spot. I was told that it was very chaotic backstage, and the reason they didn't announce anything is because so much of what they wanted to do, they didn't know if they'd be able to do, so they didn't want to false advertise. That's why so little was advertised compared to most, and the show had a disorganized feeling - because it really was."

Wednesday night's episode of “AEW Dynamite” from Tulsa averaged 828,000 viewers on TBS, up 2% from last week. It's the best audience total the show has done since January 24th and is the 3rd highest viewership of the year so far for “Dynamite”. The show ranked 1st on cable on Wednesday night with a 0.29 rating in the 18-49 demo. That's down 3.3% from last week but is tied for the third-highest rating the show has done in that category in 2024. As compared to the same week in 2023, the overall viewership for “Dynamite” was down 19.3% while its 18-49 rating was down 17.1%. It's the 14th straight week that the show has been down year-over-year in the key demo. This “Dynamite” episode was almost identical to the show's 10-week averages. When compared to the last 10 weeks, “Dynamite” was up 0.9% in overall viewership while the 18-49 demo rating was steady.

Sting’s final appearance on “AEW Dynamite” will come next week on Wednesday, February 28th, just a few days before his retirement match at the “Revolution” pay-per-view. AEW President Tony Khan wrote on X that after 36 years on top, “The Stinger” will make his final appearance on TBS as a professional wrestler. “He may stop by in the future to say hello to the @AEW fans from time to time, but after next week, we all have to face the reality, it’s over, Sting is retiring after #AEWRevolution and his last ever appearance as a professional wrestler on TBS is this Wednesday in Huntsville,” Khan wrote. Next week’s “Dynamite” is taking place from the Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL.

Episode two of Johnny Loves Taya is now available on AEW’s YouTube channel by clicking here.

Sammy Guevara’s latest vlog is available for viewing by clicking here.

TheWrap.com is reporting that Seven Bucks Productions, the production company of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Dany Garcia, are developing a movie based on the life of “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Johnson, Garcia, and Hiram Garcia will produce for Seven Bucks alongside Misher Films’ Kevin Misher. Misher worked with Seven Bucks to produce the “Fighting with My Family” movie based on the family of current AEW star Saraya. “As a kid who grew up in professional wrestling, I idolized, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair,” Johnson said in a statement. “He was a hero to me. And once I broke into the wrestling business and began to spill my own sweat and blood – my reverence for Ric turned to respect. Because I realized just how rare and impossible it is to disrupt the wrestling business, culture and truly change the game – and that’s exactly what Ric Flair did. This project is personal, and we can’t wait to tell his unbelievable story. As always, thank you for the house, Ric.” No timeline was given as to when this project is expected to start filming.

Jim Ross underwent surgery for a broken hip recently. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends condolences to Sting on the passing of his father last week.

Oklafan extends condolences to Kyle King on the passing of his mother on February 22nd.
