Double B's Top Ten Oklahoma Wrestlers of 2007
Posted: Dec 26th 2007 By: mikeiles
Oklafan Editor's Note: The following is the Top 10 Wrestlers in Oklahoma for 2007 written by former Oklahoma wrestler and current owner of Asylum Championship Wrestling, Brandon Bishop. His Top 10 in no way reflects the forthcoming 2007 Oklafan Top 50.
First off, I don't care what your opinions are, these are mine... Oklahoma has about 10 good workers and here they are...
1. Angel Williams:
When he's into it, there is none better in Oklahoma, simply put. Needs to learn the insides of the business in order to make contacts to get to the next level, where he belongs... You're not getting any younger sir...
2. Michael Barry:
One of my favorite people, wish I had more time to work him, and work WITH him... Could very well be the Triple H of Oklahoma's Indy scene, which in this day and age is about the best compliment I can think of... Is at his best when he's being himself and not acting out a role...
3. Mitch W. Carter:
People think he only works when he cares, but it's more like he only works for those who CARE ABOUT HIM... Treat him like a second rate jobber, and that's what you'll get. Put some faith in him and there's not much he won't do for you.. I have ACW footage to prove it...
4. John O'Malley:
No matter what has gone down between us, he knows how to play a crowd, and that's saying more than I can say about basically everyone in Oklahoma's scene period. Tries to keep a good image, even though his latest gear looks like a giant Hefty Garbage Bag...
5. Kenny Campbell:
When Kenny (Kenneth) is given SOMETING to work with, he shines as bright as anyone in this scene... Sadly most of the bookers, nah... ALL OF THE BOOKERS in Oklahoma are cow dung when it comes to putting pen to paper with Kenny... He's always been one of my favorite people in the scene, and if you want to know how to use him, either ASK HIM, or watch ACW highlight videos...
6. Bernie Donderwitz:
I never really considered Bernie a top caliber guy in Oklahoma, because in MSWA he was as much fun to watch as watching my cat lick it's butt clean... When he came to ACW he opened up with the Hardcore Jew gimmick, and in IZW was classic in Lawton with the over weight gimmicks... No one can sell like Bernie, no one can get a storyline across like Bernie and on top of that he's a very good worker... Bernie has always been the best part of Impact Inc by far, and makes the group and IZW get over with his talents...
7. Anthony Jackson:
I've only seen him a few times.. I've been compared to him for many years... As you know talking on a mic & playing a crowd is golden to me, and he's about the ONLY one in Tulsa that knows how to do it properly. If you're offended by that, Oh well.. Practice or quit... Jackson made his name, like I did, on the mic... So mush that people give either of us much credit for what we do when the bell rings... And on behalf of him and me... Go FU@K YOURSELVES...
8. Tommy Revell:
When I knew him in SRPW he was about as green as he could be, and his attitude wasn't great either... Just another know it all punk that wants to be a wrestler... Well he improved... In the ring, attitude, promos, and arms the size of Ty Magnus' shlong... well close... He learned a lot from playing second fiddle to Mitch W. Carter, and has finally taken the big step from secondary stooge, to leading man... I like Tommy a lot these days and I hope his current situation, and surrounding entities don't lead him down a road I've seen about 10 others take, included myself... Listening to the wrong people & surrounding yourself with complete idiots can be very dangerous in this business... If he can be his OWN man and not rely on ANYONE else, and GET THE **** OUT OF OKLAHOMA AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!! He will go as far as he wants to... Best of luck...
9. Dexter Hardaway:
That's right I said it... He knows how to get a point across in the ring, he knows how to work a crowd, he knows how to perform in the ring, and he knows what he wants in this business... As much as I want to beat his ass, I respect him for what he's done, what he's tried to do and for what he is when it comes to wrestling.. Outside the ring I think he's a soggy paper towel that just wiped up a puddle of camel ***** but that's not what this list is all about. I've chased Dexter for years, because I wanted to know I could beat him and perform at his caliber... But of course he's ran because he knows he can't perform at mine...
10. John Zorthos:
My Best friend... Yeah Right... In the ring he gives 100% of himself to the match & plays a crowd just as good as anyone on TV... If he had a good body (Much as if I did...) He'd be looked at by the people in higher places... John has a passion for this business, but he also thinks that he's something spectacular as a promoter, which he is NOT... Better than the rest of Oklahoma? Yes.. By Far... But just another dainty small promotion in the grand scheme of things... John has True heat, which is not a good thing, I've had it too... He has lost about 80% of a great roster which he had in Lawton, most of them left because OF HIM... Inside the ring he's a great story teller and one hell of an actor, but outside... well.. Just meet him... You'll see...
