A24 held the Los Angeles premiere of “The Iron Claw” where all the cast showed up for the red carpet event at the DGA Theater Complex. Apart from the main cast, Kevin Von Erich, the only surviving member of the Von Erich brothers, was also present for the event and he was also joined by his niece Lacey Von Erich (Kerry’s daughter), and several wrestling stars including M. J. F., who is credited as portraying Lance Von Erich and an executive producer for the movie. Others who came out for the premiere included John Cena, Liv Morgan, Baron Corbin, UFC's Bruce Buffer, C. J. Perry, Ryan Nemeth, and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and many others. In the movie, Nemeth portrayed Gino Hernandez and Guerrero portrayed The Sheik. The movie will hit theaters nationwide on December 22nd and reviews so far have been very good for those lucky enough to have seen it already.

Oklafan extends condolences to John Crow on the passing of his nephew Carter on December 14th.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Brian Montgomery, who passed away as a result of complications from a dislodged blood clot on December 12, 2023. He was 42 years old. Montgomery, whose full name was Brian Nelson Montgomery, Jr., made his debut in Oklahoma wrestling on March 26, 2010 at a TAP show in Wagoner where he competed as Mr. Big and teamed with Bobby Burns. They would lose to The Mexicutioners (Ray Martinez & Jesus Rodriguez) by DQ. Montgomery's next appearance was under a mask as Fire Fly at a 412PE event in Marble City, though given Montgomery's build, it was very obvious it was him. He defeated El Chupacabra in the opening match, then substituted for J. R. Orullian in a 412PE Tag Team Titles defense with The Unknown and lost the titles to The Trenchcoat Mafia (Dennis Williams & Ryan Reed). Big would team with The TCM and Lee Cook for the remainder of 412PE's existence, feuding with Orullian and The Unknown, but never succeeding in capturing those tag team titles. When 412PE closed, it was replaced by NCW and in the inaugural event, Big lost to Orullian in a match to crown the 1st NCW North American Champion. Later that year, Big and Michael H would capture the NCW Tag Team Titles by being the last two men in a Battle Royal on October 30, 2010. They held those titles until April 29, 2011 when they lost them to The Unknown & Johnny USA, but that same day, Big won the Dogwood Battle Royal for the NCW Title. He would lose that title to Ryan Reed on August 6, 2011. Big did not compete in Oklahoma for over 1 calendar year, but finally made his return on December 14, 2012 at the inaugural NAW event, beating Dennis Williams. He would make NAW his home promotion in Oklahoma, though he would make rare appearances in UWE as well. His only championship achievement in NAW came on January 11, 2014, when he teamed with Michael Duplanti as The Perfect Pistols and they defeated Justin Adams & Running Wolf for the NAW Tag Team Titles. They would hold the belts for slightly over 8 months before losing them to J.R. Orullian & Running Wolf on September 13, 2014. But even though that was his only title run in NAW, he competed there regularly for 8 years, rarely taking time off (which mostly happened due to health reasons or injury). 2017 saw him begin competing under his real name and he would continue to do so until 2020, losing to Michael H in a Hardcore match at a NAW Event in Chewey. That was his last documented match in Oklahoma. Montgomery will be remembered as someone with a deep passion to compete and entertain people, who overcame many odds to be recognized as a hero by many who saw him. In total, Montgomery competed on 75 documented Oklahoma wrestling cards.
