Lexis King replacing Trey Bearhill in WWE NXT Men's Breakout Tournament
Posted: Dec 13th 2023 By: Bryan Rose
Lexis King has been inserted into the Men’s NXT Breakout Tournament.
An angle took place on Tuesday’s NXT when the participants of the tournament were introduced. After everyone came out on stage, King appeared and attacked Trey Bearhill from behind with a steel chair. Later backstage, King boasted about what he had done to Ava, who has served as a liaison to Shawn Micheals in recent weeks. Ava told King that the other participants in the tournament wanted him in and as a result, would take Bearhill's place in the tournament.
The first two quarterfinal matches took place on Tuesday. Oba Femi defeated Myles Borne in the first match of the tournament, while Riley Osborne defeated Keanu Carver. Lexis King will now face Dion Lennox, with the winner facing Osborne in the semifinals. The other quarterfinal match will have Tavion Heights face Luca Crusifino.
In the last few weeks, King has inserted himself into the situation between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes, angering Hayes enough to challenge him to a match at this past weekend’s NXT Deadline. After Hayes won, King told Hayes that he had nothing to do with Williams being attacked, but thanked Hayes for the PLE spot.
