Ricky Starks showcased on X the welts from his strap match against Bryan Danielson at “All Out”.

Bryan Danielson says his strap match at AEW’s “All Out” against Ricky Starks was filled with "smokes and mirrors" to protect his arm which he broke at “Forbidden Door” back in June. During the post-show press conference, Danielson said he got cleared by AEW medical personnel as well as a surgeon but he didn't really use the injured arm much, in fact, he never even threw a punch with it. Danielson was full of praise for Starks who he said carried him throughout the match. He noted that he heard people rave about him before and can confirm that he's a great worker. The two had never crossed paths in the ring before Sunday. It's unclear if Danielson is back in the ring full time now or this was just a one-time thing to fill in for C. M. Punk until he's fully healed. During the same press conference, AEW President Tony Khan hinted that we might see more of Danielson on Saturdays at “AEW Collision” because it fits his work/family life balance better. Danielson pulls double duty and also helps with creative for shows and recently Khan said that if something happens to him and has to leave the show in someone else's hands, he would pick Danielson.

On his “My World” podcast, Jeff Jarrett praised Bryan Danielson. He said “I think he is the very best storyteller in modern wrestling. I think he has a unique ability. I believe on last night's card (AEW All Out), it's the one match that people had no idea that it was going to have the impact on the night that it did. I can't say enough good things about it. He is an unbelievable storyteller, brutal straps and everything that goes with it, and you know, there was interference and whatever you want to get into it, but that place was rocking. They loved it and it was brutally hard, and I'm, you know, personally happy for (Ricky) Starks. Guys coming up in this business, you know, you look back on different careers, you know, I think Kurt (Angle) gave it to (John) Cena. Scott Hall gave me a match that, okay, okay. There's certain matches that you have with older veterans or guys that are already up on top that they're irreplaceable. I believe that match is irreplaceable in Ricky Starks' career. I think it will be. I think it's gonna stand the test of time like oh wow, and look at the circumstances that had happened. Had not all of the other set of circumstances happened, he'd never had this opportunity. So the grand weave, you never ever know what is gonna come down the pike next.”

Jeff Jarrett speaks highly of Tony Khan for the way he handled C. M. Punk‘s departure from AEW. On September 2nd, AEW announced that Punk’s contract had been terminated after he was involved in an incident backstage at “AEW All In”. Tony Khan then addressed the move on Saturday’s episode of “AEW Collision”. Speaking on his “My World” podcast, Jarrett shared his thoughts on the situation. “The reality of the situation, in my humble opinion, you’re asking me to make comments on a situation that, I really believe this, there’s only two people in the world that have full context,” Jarrett said. “I think some people will say, ‘I knew this, or I knew that.’ Well, you may, but you don’t know what Tony knows, and you don’t know what Phil (Punk) knows. You just don’t. Nobody does but them two.” Jarrett continued by noting that his father, legendary promoter Jerry Jarrett, would have handled the situation similarly by getting in front of it and being honest with the fans. “What would Jerry do? I would have to have more [information] to comment specifically on this. But in general purposes, the decision Tony made, big cajónes, hit it straight on” he said. He then detailed the way AEW and Tony Khan got out in front of the situation. “There were three things done,” Jarrett said. “There was the social media audiences, the discussion that was had in the United Center, there was obviously the television audience, and then there was the live audience. All of them were addressed head on. When I read that release, boy, it was as clear as a legal situation could possibly be. I do believe my old man would have completely been aligned with it, just because getting in front of it. That is sometimes such a hard pill to swallow. The easy one would have been, ‘Let’s wait til Monday.’ There’s multiple things you could have done, a reconciliation, a cooling-off period. We could talk about it until the cows come home, and it has been talked about over and over, it feels like, for months and months. But getting in front of things with a clear-cut decision made a absolutely was the right thing to do. It best for business. Your consumers, with the decision being made, we’re informed. This absolutely is a decision that, although you can’t define how many, but there’s a segment that goes, ‘Okay, I’m a Punk fan.’ But he made the decision, and it’s over. So he got in front of it. I just don’t think there’s downsides to that.”

On September 2nd, AEW announced that they had terminated the contract of C. M. Punk. Punk reportedly got into a physical altercation with Jack Perry at AEW’s “All In” pay-per-view in London, England. After an investigation, it was determined that Punk endangered innocent people backstage at AEW and Tony Khan said that he felt his life was threatened. AEW not only released a statement on Punk's termination, but Tony Khan addressed the live crowd in Chicago, IL and the viewing audience on “AEW Collision”. Speaking at “Starrcast”, Jim Ross was asked if he would have handled Punk's termination as AEW and Tony Khan did. "I don't have any idea. I don't have all the facts. Neither do you. Bottom line is, the show must go on. That's up to the young men and women tonight to get in a huddle and bust their ass for the greatest show that people never expected," said Ross. Ross also said that he expected AEW to have a great show with “All Out” as everyone steps up in light of what happened the previous week.

Eric Bischoff confessed his preference for the Sting/Darby Allin duo, noting that the two are in a mutually beneficial relationship where magic happens. "I thought it was pretty awesome. This is where my partiality comes in, because I admit I'm partial. I am very impressed with Sting," Bischoff said on the latest edition of his podcast “83 Weeks”. "He's only four years younger than me, and getting out there and doing the things he's doing...is it the 1992 Sting, 1993, or... whatever, from early 2000s? No, it's not. Neither of us are. But it's out there, keep doing it. The audience just loves him. So my bias and the fact that I think of, and respect, Steve Borden (Sting’s real name) so much probably weighs here. First point. Second point. I thought of Darby Allin, when I had my hands stuck to my back, and I said, 'What the fuck?' How does he do that? It's awesome'. It was one of the most physically and athletically awesome moments I've seen in this entire PPV because it's so fucking hard. How is that done? I'm not even sure I could walk down the stairs back with my hands tied to my back, let alone some of the things Darby Allin was doing. But it was crazy fun to watch. I've never seen anything like this. It caught my eye," Bischoff indicated. About the Sting and Allin team: "Oh my god, are you kidding me?" That's the beautiful thing. He was almost unconscious but that's what I love about Darby and Sting. Sting is boosting in Darby. He just does it. Darby is giving it back. It's a mutually beneficial relationship where both talents are better because of the other, and I love that. It's magical when it happens," Bischoff concluded.

According to the hosts of “Wrestling Observer” radio, Carlito has been under contract with WWE since July, despite not being used on TV. Carlito canceled all his independent wrestling appearances back in June.

Gunther is now the longest-reigning Intercontinental champion in the history of the WWE, with 455 days, surpassing Honky Tonk Man's record of 454 days. The Austrian Superstar now climbs the chart and is #4 on the combined total days, with Don Muraco, The Miz, and Pedro Morales the only ones ahead of him. The Honky Tonk Man won the title from Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat during an episode of Superstars of Wrestling in Buffalo, New York, which was taped on June 2, 1987. The episode aired the next day and WWE recognizes Honky Tonk's Man record as 453 days and not 454 since his win aired the following day. The impressive run then came to a very screeching halt at SummerSlam on August 29, 1988 when The Ultimate Warrior came running down Madison Square Garden and beat him in a matter of a few seconds. Warrior's reign lasted 216 days, losing it at WrestleMania V against Rick Rude. Gunther won the title on the June 10, 2022 episode of Smackdown from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, beating Ricochet. His most recent title defense was this past Monday against Chad Gable, a win which allowed him to surpass HTM's record.

The Honky Tonk Man posted on X saying he’s still “The Greatest IC Champion of All Time!”

SANADA posted a photo on Instagram with Gail Kim: “I’ve never seen any better female wrestler than yourself. You are the best that I have seen.” Click here to view the post.

Kevin Von Erich did a talk show Friday night in Dallas. One fan said that he really enjoyed it and the crowd was into it. He said the drawback was the host didn't know wrestling but that Kevin came off so likable and shined through.

There is a television news story on the NBC affiliate in Amarillo talking about Terry Funk's funeral. It's a very good piece because you can see just how revered he was in that city. To see the video, click here.

Tommy Dreamer reflected after attending Terry Funk’s funeral saying “Today I said goodbye to Terry Funk. The world was blessed to have you in our lives for as long as we did. You are the GOAT before the word was cool. I will love you #Forever”.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Adnan al-Kassie (aka General Adnan), who passed away September 6th at the age of 84. While he had been in poor health for some time, a specific cause of death is not known at the time of this writing. Kassie, whose real full name was Adnan bin Abdul Kareem Ahmed Alkaissy El Farthie, was born in Iraq and was a schoolmate of Saddam Hussein. He received a scholarship to play football at the University of Houston, but would transfer to the Oklahoma State University to compete as a wrestler, where he replaced Tim Woods (aka Mr. Wrestling) on the wrestling team. Ironically, he almost qualified for the US Olympic team, but was denied because he was not an American citizen. Kaissie would draw the attention of Leroy McGuirk and he made his debut in TSW in 1959 under the name Billy White Wolf. He competed in TSW for a brief time before moving up to the Pacific Northwest. By the early 1970s, he returned to Iraq to bring wrestling to the country at the request of Saddam Hussein. He beat Andre the Giant in 1971 and Bob Cook in 1972 and was incredibly popular, receiving gifts that included Mercedes Benzes, palaces, and money from the government. But he also overheard stories from his nephew that Hussein was simply using him and he began to fear for his life, returning to the United States (which he could do after marrying an American woman in the 1960s). In 1976, Adnan, still competing as Billy White Wolf, teamed with Jay Strongbow and defeated The Executioners and Nikolai Volkoff & Tor Kamata in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match for the vacant WWWF World Tag Team Titles. They would hold the belts for almost 8 months until being forced to vacate them when White Wolf was injured and required neck surgery. When White Wolf healed up, he made his way to the AWA, where he would spend most of the 1980s, serving in the role of a manager to talent such as Ken Patera, Jerry Blackwell, King Kong Brody, and many others. His primary goal was to find someone to capture the AWA World Title for him. Sadly, this was a goal that was never achieved. In 1990, Kaissie, now billed simply as General Adnan, joined Col. Mustafa (aka the Iron Sheik) and Sgt. Slaughter as the Triangle of Terror. Adnan and Mustafa would guide Slaughter to the WWF World Title, fulfilling in the WWF what he couldn't in the AWA. Their time in the WWF was brief and Adnan left after 1992. He would eventually retire fully in 1998 and he could be seen at various wrestling conventions or at the Hopkins Lions Club. While it is known that he started his career for Leroy McGuirk and, as Billy White Wolf, he was billed from Oklahoma, there are no documented card results in the state for him at the time of this writing.
