Winter Is Here! Snowman Enterprises Dominates Title Picture in WFC

Posted: Jul 14th 2023 By: CMBurnham

There has been a storm brewing.

Since January, there has been a voice declaring that "Winter Is Coming". It's a catchphrase associated with a popular TV franchise, but this instance it's been used by a new manager on the scene. And in 6 rapid month, Tony Snow has done what no one expected him to be able to do: He controls 3 of the 4 WFC Titles.

Snow arrived in WFC in January and immediately made his presence known by signing WFC Champion Dutch Hagen. Hagen had previously been under the leadership of Richard Pierce, but when Pierce was forced to leave WFC when London Calling lost a match to Toxic Masculinity, Hagen became a free agent. And Snow immediately demonstrated his leader acumen by swooping in to control the top title in the WFC picture. With that foot in the door, Snow then set eyes on acquiring matching gold for the rest of his group.

The next to lay hands on a title was also the newest member of the group: Dustin Tibbs. Tibbs challenged Thrash for the WFC Prime Title just one month after Thrash had won it from Jason Jones. On paper, this looked like a mismatch. Tibbs is young and relatively inexperienced. He's also lacking a considerable amount of size in comparison to Thrash. This is not to say that "The Metal Monster" underestimated his opponent. He was prepared as best as he could be. But Tony Snow has shown that he is always ready with an ace up his sleeve. Towards the end of the match, Thrash picked Tibbs up for the Thrash Compacter, but as he turned Tibbs around, referee Dylan Feltz caught a stray blow from Tibbs' legs. This rendered him unconscious and after Thrash hit his finisher, Snow began waving frantically to the back as Thrash went to tend to the referee. This left him unaware that the other two members of Snowman Enterprises, Duke Swellington & Jack Davenport, collectively known as The Shining, were on their way to wreck havoc on the champion. And as if the 3-on-1 scenario was not enough, Davenport brought a pair of brass knucks to the ring to knock Thrash out. Tibbs was then placed on top of Thrash, the referee was revived and Dustin Tibbs became the youngest WFC Prime Champion, putting Tony Snow in charge of two of the titles.

The final step in this operation came a bit late, but the wait was worth it for Snowman Enterprises. Toxic Masculinity was originally scheduled to defend the WFC Tag Team Titles against The Shining on June 18th, but a massive storm forced WFC to reschedule that event to a later date and the Johnnys had a previous booking on that date. So the match was rescheduled for this past Sunday. But The Shining wanted to take no chances and prior to the beginning of the event, a video was shown to the WFC crowd of Snowman Enterprises attacking Johnny Lightning when he arrived at the show, severely injuring his leg. New President of the Championship Committee Stevie Caballero said that a championship match had been signed and the match had to be fulfilled, so that left Johnny Dynamite in a Handicap Match defending the belts in what could have been a 3-on-1 situation. That was reduced to 2-on-1 when Tony Snow was ejected from ringside fairly quickly, but that still didn't help Dynamite as much as he would have liked, as he had no one to tag to and had to constantly fight off the double team moves of Swellington & Davenport.

But after a lengthy match, Johnny Lightning came hobbling down the entrance way to everyone's surprise. He carried his tag team belt and was essentially unable to put any weight on his injured leg. But he refused to sit by due to doctor's orders and watch his partner lose the tag team titles. So even with only one leg, Lightning came to fight. And for a brief moment it appeared that the Johnnys might be able to overcome the odds stacked against them. Sadly, despite all the heart from Johnny Lightning, the situation was just too much and The Shining found themselves adorned in WFC Tag Team gold, completing Snow's gameplan.

The only title to elude his control is the WFC Hometown Heroes Title, currently held by Alex Royal. But that doesn't mean it is outside the notice of Tony Snow. Dutch Hagen had an opportunity to claim it in a Title-vs-Title match on Sunday, but Snowman Enterprises caused the disqualification of the WFC champion with their interference. Nonetheless Snow has now achieved so much in such a small amount of time. He knows the eyes of the WFC fandom are on him and he is fine with that. Winter has arrived for them. And Tony Snow sits on the mountaintop, looking down with disdain on the kingdom below him.
