NEWS
Chavo Guerrero, Jr. has criticized Rey Mysterio for allegedly exploiting the name of his late uncle Eddie Guerrero, who unfortunately passed away in November 2005. He was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. Chavo, on the other hand, is a former WCW Cruiserweight Champion and also held the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Eddie. Rey Mysterio was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023 and spoke about Eddie Guerrero's influence on his career during his speech. However, Chavo Guerrero, Jr. believes Rey and a few others are using the Guerrero name for their benefit. In a recent virtual signing event for Captain's Corner, Chavo expressed frustration with how Rey Mysterio has continually referenced Guerrero's name throughout his career. "I say no, dude. I’m tired of people — and this is not a bitter thing, this is the truth. We worked hard for that last name. This whole family worked really, really hard to get that name to where it was and we’re tired of people prostituting it in a sense and using it for their benefit," Chavo said. Chavo thanked Mysterio for keeping the Guerrero family's name alive, but added that they didn't need it. “So Rey Mysterio, I’m sorry that no one knows who Rey Mysterio, Sr. is, Rey Mysterio, Jr. No one knows who he is, and I’m sorry that you have to latch on to the Guerrero family and we’re just kind of tired of it, so, thank you for keeping Eddie’s name alive, thank you for keeping the Guerrero name alive but we don’t need you, we’re good." There is some speculation that Chavo was talking "in character" during this rant.

Further draft picks were made Saturday from those eligible to be drafted, leaving four WWE Superstars free agents. "SmackDown" confirmed the services of Lacey Evans and Hit Row (Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis, & B-Fab) in Saturday's supplemental picks. "Monday Night RAW" now has The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) along with Valhalla, Maximum Male Models (ma.ce & man.soor) along with Maxxine Dupri, Dexter Lumis, Candice LeRae, Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, Natalya, and NXT's Apollo Crews, Zoey Stark, and J. D. McDonagh. The free agents are Omos (w/ MVP), Mustafa Ali, Dolph Ziggler, and NXT's Von Wagner.

Week 9 of WWE on A&E had the season finale episodes of "Rivals", as "Biography" wrapped up its season last week with The Iron Sheik episode. The earlier airing of "Rivals" featured Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart and the show did a season-high of 445,000 viewers, up from the 357,000 viewers of Hulk Hogan vs. Roddy Piper last week. The show did also a season-high of 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demo and placed #24. The later "Rivals" episode featured Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels and did slightly less viewers, with 433,000 tuning in. It also did a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demo and was #25 on the chart.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts believes Jim Cornette should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Discussing the longtime manager, promoter, booker, and wrestling historian on a recent edition of his podcast "The Snake Pit", Roberts said "I love Cornette. He's there to make you think outside the box, and when you come to Jim Cornette, you don't even look at the box". He added that he hasn't always gotten along with the outspoken 61-year-old, including when they worked together as members of WWE's creative team in 1996. However, with respect to a potential Hall of Fame induction, Jake believes Jim has more than earned the accolade, saying "Absolutely, Cornette should definitely be in there. Whether he makes it or not I don't know, but he should definitely be in there. He has contributed so much to wrestling. Say what you want to about Corny but he gets the job done". Cornette was on hand to induct The Rock-N-Roll Express into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.

Appearing on "The Joe Rogan Experience", two-time WWE Hall of Famer and 16-time world champion Ric Flair called Vince McMahon his hero. When Rogan brought up the allegations against McMahon and the women he paid off along the years, Flair said he only judges people by how they treat him. "And he has treated me like I’ve never had anyone treat me with more respect ever in this business," Flair said. "He’s a great guy. I don’t care what he does. He’s my hero." The close relationship between Vince and Ric is no secret and Flair is open about how Vince came to the rescue more than once, even with lending him money, to survive. Despite being terminated from WWE a couple of times, the "Nature Boy" does not blame McMahon for it and has always praised the WWE Executive Chairman for how he handled him along the years.

Season 4 of the highly rated "Dark Side of the Ring" will kick off on Tuesday, May 30th, and Vice TV revealed the 10 episodes which will be part of the latest season. The season premiere episode will tackle Chris Candido and Tammy "Sunny" Sytch. The rest of the season is as follows:

Episode 2 - Magnum T. A.
Epsiode 3 - Adrian Adonis
Episode 4 - Doink the Clown
Episode 5 - Junkyard Dog
Episode 6 - Marty Jannetty
Episode 7 - Bam Bam Bigelow
Episode 8 - Abdullah The Butcher
Episode 9 - WCW Bash at the Beach 2000
Episode 10 - The Graham Family.

"Dark Side of the Ring" did not air last year and instead, the producers partnered with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to produce "Tales from the Territories". The show was not as much of a hit as "Dark Side of the Ring". The series was on the receiving end of some criticism for the "Plane Ride from Hell" episode which aired as part of season 3 and the year off allowed some of that heat to die down. Chris Jericho will return to the show as narrator.

Oklafan congratulates Brad Sanders on his recent engagement.
