Less than two months after suffering a massive stroke, Jerry Lawler made an appearance on WWE programming on Friday night. A pre-taped video from Lawler was shown at Friday's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. The video was part of Andy Kaufman's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Lawler said he wished he could be at the ceremony in person, but he was at home recovering. Lawler then introduced Jimmy Hart, who gave an induction speech for Kaufman. Members of the Kaufman family also spoke about Kaufman's posthumous induction.
MVP was the guest on WWE's "After the Bell" last week. You can watch the show by clicking here.
There was a "WWE Past & Present" category on "Jeopardy" last week. The category was introduced by Triple H and every clue was then given by a WWE Superstar. The $200 clue was given by Kofi Kingston and was “‘Awesome’ doesn’t even begin to describe this WWE legend. Billed as 7’4? and 500 pounds, he loved practical jokes and would move his friends’ small cars at night. Yes, move and not drive.” The clue was accompanied by clips of this wrestler in action against a jobber. The contestant correctly guessed it was Andre the Giant. The $1000 clue was also given by Triple H and was "In 1997, I defeated Mankind to take this coveted rhyming royal title that helped give me the momentum to form D-Generation X later that year." Clips of that match were also shown. The contestant knew the answer was "King of the Ring".
Trinity Fatu (AKA Naomi) has confirmed that she is no longer with WWE. It looks like she will now be using the name Trinity Starr. She is married to WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso, the son of Rikishi.
J. T. Energy and Duke Cornell both appeared as security guards on this past week’s episode of "AEW Dynamite".
Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James missed Impact Wrestling's and New Japan Pro Wrestling's "Multiverse United: Only The STRONG Survive" pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, CA on March 30th due to her injury, an injury which was revealed at Impact's "Sacrifice" show as a broken rib last. James was supposed to defend the title against Jordynne Grace at "Sacrifice" but that match did not take place after the promotion announced on Thursday night that James was out injured. She was also defending the title against Miyu Yamashita, Deonna Purrazzo, and Gisele Shaw at "Multiverse" but that got pulled too. Now James has a few weeks to recover and Impact said that if she is unable to compete at the "Rebellion" pay-per-view on April 16th, she has to surrender the title. If she is able to compete, James will defend the title in a Triple Threat Match against Jordynne Grace and the winner of the four-way match from "Multiverse" featuring Deonna Purrazzo, Gisele Shaw, Masha Slamovich, and Miyu Yamashita.
Following Thursday's incident between Rick Steiner and Gisele Shaw, WrestleCon issued a statement and later put an end to Steiner's participation in the fan convention. "WrestleCon regrets the events that took place at yesterday’s convention and apologizes to Gisele Shaw," WrestleCon said. "We aim to promote a safe and inclusive environment for all LGBTQAI+ members of the wrestling community. The issue has been addressed and we hope the remainder of the convention can be a positive experience for all." PWInsider.com later reported that Rick Steiner was told that he was not welcomed back at the convention for the remainder of the weekend events. WrestleCon also added that they are trying to facilitate a meeting between the parties involved to talk about the incident but has not be successfully able to do it yet.
Impact Wrestling referee Daniel Spencer backed up Gisele Shaw’s account of being verbally accosted by Rick Steiner. Spencer said “My heart breaks for Gisele and our [other] peer. To witness it happen was shocking and disturbing. Respect and love is something we have at IMPACT because we are FAMILY. I’m so grateful for the support we have for one another.”
Chris Jericho responded to Shaw’s post on Instagram “Hey! Don’t even worry about this. #RickSteiner has always been a bully and has gotten away with so much because he is a ‘Steiner’. Makes me laugh cause I fell for the same sh*t when he bullied me, Eddie, Chris, Oscar, juvie etc at World War 3 1997!! I got your back @giseleshaw08 …and if Rick has an issue with this, I’d love to discuss with him anytime. It’s 2023 dude…grow the f*ck up!”
On the latest episode of his podcast, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair said that he recently talked to Arn Anderson following the death of his son. The former members of the iconic Four Horsemen had a big fallout towards the end of WCW and Flair often said that Arn did not even bother to check on him when he was on his deathbed several years ago and not even when his son Reid passed away years earlier. But after Arn lost his son Barrett, Flair reached out, saying he knows what Arn is going through as a father. “It’s a very personal thing with Arn. I know what he’s going through. Kevin Nash knows what he’s going through. Any number of people out there," Flair said, "All the bullshit that we go through...there are some things in wrestling that are real and hurtful and just never seem to work out right." The 16-time World Champion said that the two have now reconnected after going their separate ways years before. "I mean...to have that phenomenal time in the 80s and see it kind of slip away for whatever reason, quite honestly because of promoters, and then to reconnect and have a private moment and exchange texts and everything, it made me cry," Flair continued. "I was that happy to hear back from him. Not much more I can say about that. I just hope he and I can move forward and do some stuff together." Flair's daughter Charlotte recently also uploaded some photos with Barrett on her social media after he passed away.

He is expected to miss 3 months due to the injury. As a result, he has vacated the MajCW 24/7 On Call Title and MajCW will make an announcement regarding the title before their show on May 19th.
