On the latest "Pro Wrestling Spotlight" podcast at Kevin Von Erich was interviewed by John Arezzi on the 30th anniversary of the passing of Kevin's brother Kerry Von Erich. Arezzi said he didn't want to dwell too much on the family tragedies but Kevin said that he has no issue talking about it because he is happy and at peace. "I didn't know it had been 30 years," Kevin said. "For me, it seemed like maybe 10. 30 years, that sounds right. Kerry was a great guy. I'm a Christian and raise my family this way. And I'm not afraid of death. That's just kind of the difference in a Christian I suppose and other people, I'm kind of looking forward to being in heaven to tell you the truth. But it's not that I want to die. I love life. I love my family. I love everything but death is not something scary for me at all. That's a great day, but today is the day and to do your best every day. And that's life. That's what's good and fun. I'm so happy right now, I've never been this way. So peaceful and happy. I've got all my kids, my children around and grandchildren. That's a blessing, man. That's as good as life gets. If I could pass that along to your listeners. If I could do one positive thing from the suffering I've gone through in my life, let me tell you, there is no joy than love and children, love and marriage and being a man taking the hard stuff, so your family doesn't have to go through it. You know? Yeah, it's hard. Life is hard. But we're men, you know, we do what's hard, we pay the price so the women and children don't have to, and it's a beautiful life like that. Like I said, on the 'Dark Side of the Ring' video, dinner with children, being home telling stories with each other, that's the good, that's the good stuff. The small stuff." His thoughts on WWE and his sons possibly working for AEW: "I love the WWE but also AEW. I watch AEW and I love the direction they're going. I believe [Tony Khan is] on the right track. I really have a good feeling about that. I'd like to see my sons there." On his sons Marshall and Ross' MLW contracts and their future: "I brought them up rough, you know, I knew what it was like in Japan for the young boys and so I sent him over there because if you want to grow a tree strong, you let the wind blow on it, you let the rocks and the dust hit it. I mean, it's the outside forces of nature that grow that tree with strong bark. I wanted them to be hit rough. And the way I train them is my style. You really can't see that when they're getting chopped going into the ring every week. When you put them in the ring was solid men that did what I did, you're gonna show what they've been trained to do with us. They've signed their contracts (with MLW) and they're stuck, but their contracts are almost over. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the next chapter is gonna be like." The interview has now been posted for free on every major podcast app.
Karrion Kross is not happy with how he is being used in WWE and spoke out on "The Superstar Crossover" show. He said “This is probably unhealthy, and I shouldn’t say it, but I’m just going to say it. I actually get really pissed because it’s not enough. It’s not enough. I haven’t reached my full potential yet and people haven’t seen my best work yet. I know what I can do and at this level you need to be afforded certain types of opportunities which is difficult with a big roster and only two hours of the program.” You can watch the video by clicking here.
A&E aired "WWE Rivals", which focused on the feud between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. The show attracted an audience of 444,000 viewers, the second-highest audience total in the series’ history. Regarding ratings, with a rating of 0.14 in the 18-49 demographic, "Rivals" attained the 27th position on the cable charts, which is the third-highest number in the show’s history and nearly tripled the rating of last season’s finale. In the first season, "Rivals" had an average of 370,000 viewers and a 0.11 in the 18-49 demo.
A member of The Judgment Day has reacted to Mick Foley's proposal to join the WWE faction. Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio have been wreaking havoc on "WWE Monday Night RAW" for a while now. Over the past few months, the group has targeted a long list of top babyfaces on WWE TV. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has seemingly been keeping a close eye on Judgment Day, judging by his latest Instagram post. He shared a photoshopped image of Rhea Ripley whispering something in his ear. The legend made it clear in the caption that he wishes to join the stable. "SECRET MEETING? Looks like @rhearipley_wwe is sharing some serious info with the #HardcoreLegend in this photo. Could #JudgementDay be looking for a new member?… I never did hard time like @dominik_35 - but maybe I still have the pain and experience to offer… Waiting to hear back from @archerofinfamy on whether or not I have been accepted, but I’m staying positive about my chances!" The post received a response from Damian Priest, who asked Foley to submit a full presentation with his pitch.
Beth Phoenix and Edge using the Shatter Machine at "Elimination Chamber" got a big reaction from their neighbor and friend, Dax Harwood. On the FTR podcast, Hardwood said "I was watching on my phone and I rewound it. My wife just started filming me. I didn’t know she was filming me but I said to her…Oh man, I’m so emotional right now. She said 'Why are you so emotional? Because they did your finishing move? I said 'Well, yeah, that’s very respectful but I’m more emotional that they called it the Shatter Machine because that’s the name that I came up with.'"
Beth Phoenix returned to the ring at WWE's "Elimination Chamber", teaming with her husband Edge to defeat The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Rhea Ripley). Ripley is set to challenge Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at "WrestleMania 39" while Balor and Edge continued their feud on this poast week's "WWE Monday Night RAW" with Balor costing Edge the WWE United States Championship. Appearing on "Busted Open Radio", Beth was asked if she had any plans for "WrestleMania 39". "I'll be at 'WrestleMania'. I'm sure Adam [Edge] will be factored and featured in. I'll be there to enjoy. Whatever it is, I can say with all my heart, he and I don't look too far ahead. We don't have any plans, 'this is going to be the retirement.' We're just taking it one day at a time. When these little opportunities pop up, we're just like, 'hell yeah.' We don't know what tomorrow brings and our kids are old enough now that they can process Mom and Dad squeezing this for every last drop. That's fun. It's been really fun to do this as a family. They're in elementary school, so the kids know what our jobs are and they're watching the match," she said. Phoenix noted that she didn't want to put limits on her children and that she would be attending her daughter's career day on Friday. Edge has not been confirmed for a match at "WrestleMania 39".
The producers for each match at "Elimination Chamber" were as follows:
-Women's Elimination Chamber: Tyson Kidd, Petey Williams, and Molly Holly
-Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley: Jason Jordan
-Beth Phoenix & Edge vs. The Judgment Day: Adam Pearce
-Men's Elimination Chamber: Jamie Noble and Abyss
-Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn: Michael Hayes
Among the matches uploaded this past week to WWE’s YouTube channel was A. J. Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship at "WrestleMania 34.
In the early 90s, Scott Steiner brought The Steiner Brothers tag team to WWF, along with his brother Rick, for a couple of years. But it's the former's run in WWE between 2002 and 2004 that sticks in the minds of fans — and not for the best reasons. On a recent episode of the "Grilling JR" podcast, Jim Ross addressed Scott Steiner's "Big Poppa Pump" stint in WWE, discussing whether or not that stretch was "snake-bit" and what amounted to match limitations. "Yeah, he wasn't, Scotty wasn't healthy to the level that he could go out and be the athlete that he was coming out of Michigan," Ross said. "His body was taking a toll and a lot of those big muscle guys have that issue and I just think Scotty wasn't healthy. His injuries and culmination of injuries simply did not allow him to have his normal, back-in-the-day, athletic match. Plus, he was getting older." Scott returned to WWE as a singles star at "Survivor Series 2002", immediately making an impact by beating up Matt Hardy and Chris Nowinski. While many were excited to see where Scott's career would go in WWE, it wound up amounting to a whole lot of nothing. He never quite stuck around the main event scene he was envisioned for initially and his in-ring skills had deteriorated to the point that his matches were less-than-pleasing to watch. After coming in to much fanfare, he turned heel less than a year after his return, and, after competing in the 2004 "Royal Rumble", his time in WWE was done. As a tag team though, the Steiner Brothers were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2022, inducted by Rick's son, current NXT Champion Bron Breakker.
On Wednesday's "AEW Dynamite", Chris Jericho signed the contract to face Ricky Starks at "AEW Revolution". Jericho and Starks have been feuding since the start of the year, going back and forth on the mic and in the ring. Starks defeated Jericho on the January 4th episode of "AEW Dynamite", but failed to get a rematch by losing the Garcia-Guevara Gauntlet on the February 8th episode of "AEW Dynamite". Starks has often drawn comparisons to The Rock in his career, and Jericho made his WWE debut by interrupting The Rock. Speaking on "Busted Open Radio", Jericho was asked about feeling the same electricity in the ring with Starks that he felt with The Rock. "When you first stand in the ring with The Rock, you talk about a generational talent, that's a different level. The thing with Ricky is, I've seen glimpses of that, which is great. He's still harnessing and the idea for this program was to continue to build. He did a great promo in San Antonio when we started that really blew my mind, I thought it was awesome. Then there were some moments that weren't quite as good just because that's how it goes. I thought last night [Wednesday] was the best Starks has been in our program so far. Nuances. A lot of the younger guys, they'll talk with deep breathing because they are afraid to be like, 'I want to say this. Pause. Let the crowd react.' He really had some great nuances with that. That's what Sammy Guevara and Danny Garcia are learning. Guys have to learn when they haven't had a lot of promos, really how to hone in what you are and how to hold the crowd in the palm of your hand without saying a word. At the click of a pen, shall we say. Ricky is really starting to hone in on that and figure it out, which has been great," he said. In the "AEW Revolution" bout between Jericho and Starks, The Jericho Appreciation Society (Garcia, Guevara, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, & Jake Hager) are banned from ringside.

TBS will be airing a new show after Dynamite. "AEW: All Access" will be a documentary series that will feature Adam Cole, Dr. Britt Baker, Sammy Guevara, Tay Conti, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson), Saraya, Wardlow, and Eddie Kingston, along with AEW CEO, General Manager, and Head of Creative Tony Khan. TBS describes the show as “Each episode will showcase AEW’s stars as they navigate the week-to-week challenges to remain at the top and will track the rivalries between talent as they vie for fans’ attention.”
During the latest Tony Schiavone podcast "What Happened When" with Conrad Thompson, the duo discussed Jeff Jarrett's situation last week where he showed up to work just hours after his father Jerry passed away. Schiavone called Jeff a total pro and said they all agreed that the best thing for him was to step back in the ring after his father died on Tuesday. Jarrett was part of the opening match of the show on "Dynamite" last week. Meanwhile, Thompson added that it was Jarrett's stepmother Debra that pushed him to go to work. "As they were at the hospital and all of this was happening with his dad, she looked at him and said, 'What time’s your flight?'" Thompson recalled Jeff telling him. "He just sort of looked like, 'What?' She goes, 'Yea, your dad would have been pissed if you didn’t go to work,' so he went to work." The funeral service for Jerry Jarrett took place Tuesday, February 21st. The celebration of life started at 11am from the Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville, TN, and visitation with the family commenced once hour prior to the service.
The video of Jerry Jarrett’s funeral, including a very emotional eulogy from his son Jeff, can be seen online by clicking here.
Impact Wrestling Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore said during an appearance on "Busted Open Radio" that they need to book IWGP Women's champion Mercedes Mone versus Impact Knockouts champion Mickie James for somewhere. D'Amore, who just recently met Mercedes for the first time, said it was great to finally cross paths with her following her match against KAIRI this past Saturday at New Japan Pro Wrestling's "Battle in the Valley" event in San Jose, CA. Saying he's a fan of both Mercedes and KAIRI, D'Amore noted how both put on an outstanding title match. "The wrestling was amazing, the emotion was fantastic," he said. "And, I got talk to her afterward, Mercedes is obviously is very focused and a passionate professional. Her wrestling is top notch, her attitude seemed great to me." A while ago Mone said that she would like to have a match against Mickie James and James, also on the show, said she wanted it. "We have to get you two in a ring somewhere and get this done," the D'Amore said.

The late Jim Hines is a former wrestling promoter who helped start and create WCBTW and is the father of Bobby Fulton.
Barry Windham, a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and WWE Hall of Famer, was rushed to the hospital back in early December after suffering a heart attack at the Atlanta airport. It was then reported that Windham had stabilized and was out of the ICU days later. Arn Anderson, who worked alongside Windham for years in The Four Horsemen, offered a new update on Windham's condition on the latest episode of his "ARN" podcast. "Getting it third party that he is is making his way back slowly. He's hopefully going to be much, much better as time goes by. It was a really, really bad scare. I know that it scared the shit out of all of us as soon as we heard it. It was a very, very close call. I think he's getting a little bit better along. I don't think he's in a position [where] he can travel or anything like that yet," Arn said. "A lot of thought has went into Barry Windham and his condition, you know, a lot of prayers, and we appreciate that coming from everybody. I know the family does. Hopefully, Barry will be up and around before we know it."
