NEWS
Mick Foley noted on Facebook that he politely declined to appear on last week’s RAW due to the hectic nature of his schedule. He said "I was definitely asked by WWE, and politely declined due to the hectic nature of my schedule. If I had not taken the past couple days off - and instead traveled to Philadelphia for the show - I would be on the road for 32 consecutive days. I have been working on a new project - which has been great fun, but also requires a lot of travel - and I just really needed a couple days off to relax and see my wife and children."

Regarding the questions on the changing of The Bloodline segment on this past Monday's RAW from an acknowledgment ceremony with the family of Roman Reigns, to the trial of Sami Zayn, rumors regarding this had to do with The Rock pulling out or Vince McMahon changing things are both false. The Rock was never booked for the segment. The change was made because Afa, Sika, & Rikishi were all not going to be able to be there. They were to be the key people but Afa & Sika were not ready for the trip and Rikishi got sick during week so the idea basically fell apart. Creative was changed with The Bloodline story on Friday to reflect the change in Raw, and what happened was not what was originally scripted to happen.

Natalya speaks candidly about her father's funeral. Natalya took to The Bellas Podcast and shared the instance where WWE refused to air an important aspect of her life. WWE Hall of Famer Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart is the father of Natalya. He suffered from Alzheimer’s, and she wanted to share that with the world, but WWE interrupted. “On the WWE end, they tried to sugarcoat too many things. I really wanted to be able to share what was going on with [Neidhart] in his, you know, with his, with his condition, you know, with him having Alzheimer’s and stuff. I really wanted to talk about it more because Alzheimer’s is one of, like, the five leading causes of death in the world … I remember people at WWE saying, ‘No, we don’t want anybody at your dad’s funeral. We don’t want to film it.’” The story has varied perspectives, and it’s easy to see both sides of the coin. From WWE’s point of view, it could be a show of respect. From Natalya’s angle, it might’ve been an emotional response to the passing away of his father.

WGN TV news brought up it being the 39th anniversary of Hulk Hogan defeating The Iron Sheik for the WWF World Title and then talked about crazy wrestling names mentioning Spanky, Bastion Booger, and Beaver Cleavage.

Charlotte Flair was a guest on NBC’s “Today” show this past week. During the interview, Charlotte was asked about seeing her father Ric Flair and her husband Andrade el Idolo team together in Ric’s last match. She said "Honestly, I was a little jealous. Because I was like, oh, I want to be a part of this. I’ve shared the ring with my dad but not in that capacity. But then again, my husband having the opportunity to be beside him and at the same time, I’m like, man, I wish my little brother (Reid Flair) could see this. And then my husband is a third-generational wrestler and then with my dad – it was awesome. Picture perfect, but I mean, I think my dad could have maybe just managed my husband. But it worked out."

On his latest podcast "To Be The Man", recorded after "RAW IS XXX", Ric Flair said that he made peace with Seth Rollins and apologized to Becky Lynch for what happened in the past over the trademark fiasco of "The Man". Flair said he used his time backstage to resolve "a lot of issues" that had been lingering for a few years, mainly with Rollins and Lynch. "I went over and shook Seth Rollins' hand and I said, 'I’m going to apologize to your wife,' Flair said. "I walked up to her and said, 'May I speak with you for a minute? I’m sorry that this got to where it is.'" He continued, "Actually, the whole 'The Man' trademark was decided by someone besides she and I. It’s not that as much as the money that was involved in it which the company reaps the better part of it anyway. Then I saw them with their child and I thought, 'My God, this is going to be Ashley someday.' It’s not worth it." Flair admitted that he's not "the man" anymore and "the man" is who the people think it is. The situation between Flair and Lynch escalated even more after Becky had a fallout with Charlotte where obviously Ric took his daughter's side. The 16-time World Champion said he enjoyed his time backstage at RAW and he felt respected, wanted, and like he was part of it again. "I walked away a better man with a better understanding of who I am as a person and what the business is about," Flair said.

After Ric Flair criticized his chops on a recent podcast, Konosuke Takeshita wrote on Twitter “I have the utmost respect for Ric Flair. It is incredible to me that he mentioned me. I need to practice a lot as I haven't done much chopping in Japan. Thanks for the advice. I would like you to actually teach me if possible. Watch my chops grow from now on.”

Ric Flair was Grand Marshal for the Gasparilla Pirate Fest on January 28th in Tampa, FL. The Gasparilla Pirate Fest has been a big thing in the city since forever, as they used to have one of the biggest shows of the week on the Tuesday of the festival.

Pro Wrestling NOAH held the "Great Muta Final Bye-Bye event" on January 22nd at the Yokohama Arena, mainevented by a six-man tag match featuring Muta, Sting, and Darby Allin vs AKIRA, Hakushi, and Naomichi Marufuji. The history of Sting and Muta, dating back to the WCW days, was showcased in a video before the wrestlers made their way out to the ring. The AEW TNT champion Darby Allin used his skateboard to the ring and came out to his AEW theme. Sting came out to two theme songs, his WCW one and then his AEW one complete with snow. The finish of the match came when Allin hit the Coffin Drop on Hakushi and then Muta hit the Shining Wizard to cover him for the victory.

John Morrison has gone through more name changes than anyone in the history of wrestling. It all started when the former WWE star made his debut on RAW under the ring name Johnny Blaze in 2004. However, he instantly went through a couple of name changes before settling on Johnny Nitro. He used the name for a few years before Vince McMahon made him change it again. The former champion thinks it was because Nitro reminded the boss of WCW’s flagship show of the same name. The high-flying star was recently interviewed by Chris Van Vliet. Among other things he also talked about his name change in WWE. The wrestling star admitted that going from Nitro to Morrison was a big shift for him. He also revealed that Mr. McMahon asked him to change the name three times before he finally did. He said “It definitely was. Literally, Vince I don’t know if [he] would admit this or not, but [he] did not like Nitro. I don’t think [so]. Because it reminded him about WCW. Because he asked me to change my name three times. The third time was when I won the ECW title [in 2007]. I didn’t say no that time because I was like, ‘All right. I am not gonna fight this anymore.'” When asked how he managed to say no to Vince McMahon two times, Morrison said “You just say you’ll think about it and then hope he forgets. Sometimes he does.” Morrison also revealed the reason Vince gave him for wanting the name change and detailed the final conversation about it. “He said, ‘You gotta change your name. You gotta have a champion’s name if you’re gonna be a champion. Make a list of names. Write down 10 names’ Then an hour later, I had like a list of all these names. Morrison was off Jim Morrison from The Doors but I had like Brando Morrison, Johnny Brando, Johnny Blaze Morrison, Blaze is already copywritten, by a bunch of stuff. He looked at this list that I’d spent an hour googling names and meanings and different celebrities like James Dean and making this list. He just looked at it and was like, "John Morrison".

John Hennigan (AKA John Morrison) will be part of "Creator Clash 2", in a boxing match against Harley Morenstein from "Epic Meal Time".
