WCR cancels future events

From World Class CEO Jerry Bostic:
Effective immediately all future events except WAW & World Class, have been cancelled for the time being. I initially wanted to host a fb live to make this more personal for everyone, but it’s just best for me personally to release a statement.
I’ve been in this business 17 years now, and as all of us in this business know, it takes a real toll on your body. I guess it was probably July-ish I started having a lot of pain in my left shoulder. I assumed I injured it during a match, or working out. The pain was pretty bad at the time so I went to see a specialist. The specialist asked a series of questions, and then proceeded to tell me that my neck was causing the issues in my shoulder. I then had an mri and x-rays done. I went to see another specialist and proceeded to have epidural injections in my back, which ultimately didn’t help at all. The next line of action was to attempt to burn the nerve endings in my neck, I don’t suggest this lol. I had 3 injections to each side of my neck, and when they say burn your nerve endings…they mean it literally. You have to go through this two separate times to see if it works before having a full round. Still at the end of the day it gave me no relief. I chose not to have the next round done, and sought out another specialist. He explained everything very thoroughly to me showing me the x-rays of my neck and basically telling me that my neck is fine except the part where we take the brunt of the fall when we hit the mat every time we wrestle. That part of my neck is very deteriorated, no spinal fluid on either side (which is what protects us), and has become extremely dangerous for my every day health. I’m currently trying out different medications and possibly another set of injections to try to ease the pain and pressure on my neck. If these do not work, I will eventually have to have a neck fusion. With all of this being said, I am officially retiring for the 17th lol and last time from in-ring competition. It’s in my own best interest for my health that I temporarily step away from wrestling completely until I have this under control. What under control means, I don’t currently know, but hopefully I find out lol. I want to thank every single one of you that have been a part of my physical wrestling journey, not just my promoting. I didn’t matter if it was in front of 50 people or 2,000, every time I wrestled I gave everything I had to each person that was there. I always feel blessed to even be able to chase this crazy dream like I have. I’ve done things that I never dreamed possible, and that’s because of everyone who has supported us, and everyone who has worked for me and with me. I am so thankful for all of you, even those of you who aren’t on good terms with me. Good or bad, all of you were a part of this journey with me and we have shared a lot of crazy times together. I am forever thankful to each of you that ever paid $1 for anything I’ve produced, because your support made all of this possible. I love you all for that more than I could ever put into words. You let someone who as a kid only dreamed of doing this, do it for a living, and do it on a very high level.
This isn’t goodbye, it’s just a temporary break as I get my health in check so I can return to promoting with a clear head and hopefully a clear bill of health to some degree. Don’t feel sorry for me, I don’t feel sorry for myself. I was initially very upset and came home and cried for about 30 minutes…then I started playing Madden lol. You can’t feel sorry for me, and I can’t feel sorry for myself, because like I said earlier God has blessed me with more than I ever thought possible with wrestling. I sit here thankful for every single bit of it, the good and the bad. I sit here again, thankful for every single one of you. Thank you so much for everything from the bottom of my heart. I will hopefully see you guys soon in a few months. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Remember to be thankful for everything you do have, not bitter over the things you don’t have. Spread love and positivity, and treat others the way you want to be treated.
Sincerely,
Jerry Bostic
