A video aired during SmackDown on December 2nd with Karrion Kross choosing Rey Mysterio as his “next victim.” Mysterio hasn’t wrestled since October due to an injury that required him to wear a walking boot.
Goldberg just announced that he intends to wrestle again. He stated that he is not ready to end his career just yet. He may have one more match in him yet and doesn’t want to end it with a loss to Roman Reigns. This is what he told ESPN 92.9 FM, “I will wrestle again at some point in WWE. I don’t plan on going out by losing to Roman Reigns.” Goldberg’s last match was against Roman Reigns at "Elimination Chamber 2022". He lost to Roman Reigns in a match for the WWE Universal Champion. Their battle at "Elimination Chamber" is the only one on one match between himself and Reigns. When he wrestled his last match, some had thought that Goldberg’s career would be over soon after. There were reports that his shoulder was injured. Goldberg has lost four of his last five matches. Aside from Reigns, he’s also been defeated by Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley. He may well be looking to improve his recent record lately. Who might he go against? Goldberg in a revenge match against Roman Reigns? Perhaps another battle with Bray Wyatt?
Ricky Starks won the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale on Wednesday night and now has the chance to take the AEW World Title and the Dynamite Diamond Ring from M. J. F. Twelve stars participated in the match, including Dustin Rhodes, Jungle Boy, Orange Cassidy, Lee Moriarty, Matt Hardy, Kip Sabian, Dalton Castle, Brian Cage, The Butcher, Shawn Dean, and obviously Starks himself. The final two ended up being Starks and Ethan Page, a rematch from their AEW World Title Eliminator tournament final which Starks also won. The winner-takes-all match between Starks and M. J. F. will take place on the "Winter Is Coming" edition of "Dynamite" next week at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX.
In a recent social post, Colten Gunn indicated that "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry’s success depended on who he hung out with. Perry had been feuding with Colten’s brother Austin on social media when he posted the comment about Jungle Boy and AEW President Tony Khan. “i guess if we changed with the bucks and stayed up until 6 am with the boss we could get a spot too” Jim Cornette gave his thoughts on this during his "Jim Cornette Experience". “So now what’s happening over there is that since the floodgates have been opened, and everybody has just decided they can air their dirty laundry in public as far as who gets along in the locker room and who doesn’t. And it’s now pretty much an established fact from reports from first-person accounts from talent both there and that have departed. Apparently, it’s easier to get booked on the big shows if you stay up all night with Tony Khan and do some of his drugs. These are the comments that have been made by people. Remember Big Swole said Tony Khan fired me after he smoke my weed, I thought we were friends. And now here is the [thing], and I love The Gunn Boys, you know I do, but here’s the preliminary guys at this point coming out and said ‘well, yeah, you know, if you stay up all night with the boss and dress in [The Young Bucks’] locker room, you’ll get booked on a pay-per-view. That’s why we’re sitting home. That’s why FTR is in Mexico or somewhere.”
CM Punk’s future in wrestling remains unclear following his reported backstage fight with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks after AEW’s "All Out" pay-per-view. He was stripped of the World Title and suspended, although it’s been reported that he’s in talks with AEW about a contract buyout.
On his "Jim Cornette Experience", Cornette spoke about how there is no money to be made from a match between Punk and The Elite if Punk could be talked into returning. “If they had that lined up, laid out, then all this would be perfectly acceptable. And wishful thinking would indicate, you know that everybody would want to see that, right? Oh, yeah, everybody gets back together. We have this big program, it draws all kinds of money. But what you are overlooking is the fact that these f*cking douchebags don’t want to draw money. They don’t want anybody to jeopardize their position, their company, their revolution, their movement. If anybody gets over or is more important than them, or shows people that their wrestling is sh*t, and that people still in larger numbers react to sh*t they can understand, that’s bad. And you would have to assume that the Buckaroos [Young Bucks] and Twinkle-toes [Omega] were willing to work with a guy like Punk who they’ve had heat with, or that Tony would be willing to deal with a guy that’s told him to go f*ck himself or whatever.” Cornette shared the differences between how he saw Vince operate and how he perceived Tony Khan to be operating. “Now I know, people are saying, Well, hey, Vince McMahon has put the WWF title on a dozen guys that said f*ck you to him or whatever, before that. Yes, because Vince was all about business. This is not business. This is fantasy booking by a billionaire boy child. And the incredible windfall that these self-trained, self-important, self-indulgent nitwits have fallen into by getting said billionaire boy child to f*cking fund their goddamn vision of what wrestling is. And it ain’t working, because they’re in the same place they were three years ago. But they’ve had tons more bad publicity. Ticket sales are going down, ratings are going down, everybody’s getting in a fight backstage. And the only people in the locker room that have the pull with Tony to get him to do anything, are the ones that are protecting their spots at the expense of everything else.” Cornette thinks there would be money in a Punk versus Omega match. “So yes, in a perfect world, this would all be a work, but it’s not. And it’s not going to be and they don’t have it in them to call Punk and say, alright, let’s put this f*cking behind us, let’s make some money. And let’s be honest. Besides the same group of people, you could probably get Punk and Olivier If people thought there were real legitimate bad feelings – which there are – you could probably get a pay-per-view out of them. To have Punk in the same ring with the buckaroos would just be bringing him down to their level. There’s no money to be made there anyway, because the only people that would care would be the same people already watching the show.”
AEW wrote William Regal off television after M. J. F. attacked him. This happened after Regal helped M. J. F. beat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Heavyweight Title at "Full Gear". Regal is on his way out of the company as he’s returning to WWE next month. Jim Cornette gave his thoughts on various topics on his "Jim Cornette Experience". During the show, Cornette spoke about his belief that Bryan Danielson should be M. J. F.’s next big title contender to get revenge for Regal. “Obviously the next major opponent and it makes perfect sense is Danielson. He just, you know, M. J. F. just laid waste to Regal so Danielson would be natural. And also those matches I’m sure would be very good and I don’t think Danielson would be as hard to work with mentally or physically as most of the other people that you know, you could choose from. Having said that, that is indeed the problem and you mentioned you know, booking [Ric] Flair, booking and a heel, you know, champion. You’ve got to have strong babyfaces which is what when Ric Flair was a heel and remember The Four Horsemen they always had [strong babyfaces]. And just the fact that, again I’m not knocking Ricky Starks, but to this point, he has not been portrayed at the single main event World Title level. They just had him win a tournament, and I’m not saying he shouldn’t get an opportunity but that’s not an answer for him. Ricky Starks is not the equivalent of Sting in 1989, right? Not in his presentation at this point.” Cornette thinks AEW needs to have some credible babyface opponents for M. J. F. to face. “And this is the one obvious babyface, Danielson is the guy that just came out and had to f*cking tell that tale of sorrow and woe and switch heel in front of half the crowd the other day on TV but at least yes they will get behind him in this incident for you know, going for revenge for his lordship. But besides Danielson who’s been portrayed at a main event level, who obviously has a long history and track record and respect from the fans, that’s a money matchup that’s pay-per-view. Ricky Starks isn’t, not because of his talent because of his presentation. Mox, nobody wants [Jon] Moxley again please God no. And explain to me who their other main event babyfaces are. Does anybody want to see M. J. F. against Twinkle Toes [Kenny Omega]? God please tell me no, please please tell me no.”
Jim Ross confirms that William Regal has left All Elite Wrestling. On the latest episode of the “Grilling JR” podcast. AEW Commentator and Senior Advisor Jim Ross not only confirmed the story, but he explained that in the past tense, calling it a “blessing to have him around” the company. Ross spoke highly of Regal as well. “He’s been a very valuable resource, you can’t replace guys with that kind of experience and in Regal’s case, the patience to help these young guys. He was in the ring every day at [AEW] TV, he always had time for the talent, young green guys. I told some of [the talent] the other day ‘I hope you guys are paying attention to him.’ I mentioned to M. J. F., I said ‘The more you can sit under that learning tree of William Regal and talk about the psychology of being a wrestling villain, you should because he’s got great psychology.’ A very valuable asset wherever he may be, I don’t know what the future holds for him.”
On the latest edition of his "Grillin JR" podcast, Jim Ross spoke about his relationship with John Laurinaitis, someone Ross says he has a hard time trusting and is actually happy that he’s out of a job. Here are some of the highlights. Says he doesn’t like how Laurinaitis treated him: “I had a hard time as time went on trusting Laurinaitis. That’s sad to say. I hired him. I gave him a job when he needed it. I don’t think he treated me quite right. He just wanted to show Vince that he was a better manager than JR and all these things.” Says he’s happy if Laurinaitis is miserable: “So now his ass is without a job and he deserves the Goddamn misery that he’s living, that I perceive that he’s living, and I didn’t like how he treated me.”

Barry Windham has been removed from ICU after suffering a major heart attack at the Atlanta airport on December 2nd. His niece, Mika Rotunda, gave an update on the former Four Horsemen member in a post on social media. "Thank you to all who have reached out, prayed, contributed and sent well wishes to my Uncle Barry this week," she said. "I wanted to give an update! I’m grateful to say he is stabilized & out of ICU. Talking & able to stand. Thanks again everyone! There absolutely is power in prayer." A GoFundMe campaign was started for the 62-year-old to pay for his medical expenses as he has no insurance and he has limited work due to his health. Over $30,000 so far have been collected with many ex colleagues and wrestlers contributing to the campaign. You can find the GoFundMe by clicking here. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
In an Instagram video, Bray Wyatt opened up about his uncle Barry Windham’s health issues. Wyatt said "When I was a kid, I looked at my dad, my uncles, my grandfather, who were all professional wrestlers. I looked at them as if they were like they were Greek gods or something, like they couldn’t feel pain; they were immortal; they would always be just like that. As we get older, and I become a man myself, you start to understand that’s just not the case. Nothing is forever. This week, my uncle, Barry Windham, he had a massive heart failure in Atlanta and he went down, and he didn’t have a pulse for 10 to 20 minutes, so he was away, he was gone. I want to thank one specific man, Michael Todd Lalic, who was there — a random citizen. He gave him CPR there throughout that entire time before everyone else and the EMTs can get to him, and he stayed with him, and he’s the reason that we have Barry still. He’s alive, he’s with us. Barry Windham has given his life to his profession. His whole life has been about this, just like mine, and he put everything into it, and I wanted to share that I am incredibly thankful to have him back. My sister set up a GoFundMe in his name and not obligated to share, no one is obligated to share anything. But if you could, that would be incredibly helpful … Be good to the ones you love. Always remind them about that how much they mean to you because nothing is forever. Thank you for everything, guys.
Donovan Era suffered a ruptured patella tendon in his match against Dimitri Alexandrov at WFC in Wagoner on December 10th. Oklafan wishes him a sspeedy recovery.
Kaci Cannon was admitted to the hospital early last week and posted an update on her Facebook on Saturday: “I was admitted to the hospital on Monday. Renal failure, liver failure, pancreas failure, heart and lung function seriously affected. The ER doctor gave me a 10% chance to live thru the night. It’s been a rough week. I’m still in the hospital - transferred out of ICU yesterday YAY. I’m at the OSU hospital in Tulsa. They’ve been so wonderful. Medical wise: my kidneys are now functioning at 12% and dialysis is probably a permanent thing for me. Pancreas seems fine. Liver - meh. Not in failure but not exactly functioning great. Heart is finally behaving but constantly monitored. Lungs are a whole different issue. They keep filling with fluid which makes me feel like I’m drowning even when my pulse ox reads 90+.” Oklafan wishes her a speedy recovery.
