The Women's Wrestling Hall of Fame announced its 2023 class of inductees. The list includes Marva Scott, Cora Livingston, Mildred Burke, Beverly Shade, Ethel Johnson, Babs Wingo, Susan Green, Jazz, Luna Vachon, Madusa, Iryna Merleni, Rita Marie Chatteron, the tag team of Toni Rose & Donna Christanello, and the GLOW wrestling company.
Dillon and Jarron Hines, sons of Bobby Fulton, announced that they are co-producing a documentary about their father's career. They plan to have it completed by October 2023.
It was announced this past week that current AEW wrestler Ryan Nemeth will be playing Gino Hernandez in "The Iron Claw", the movie about the Von Erich family. Nemeth is the brother of WWE star Dolph Ziggler.
During a recent episode of his “Jim Cornette Experience” podcast, Cornette spoke about how he didn’t like the Trios Title match between The Elite and Death Triangle at AEW Full Gear. “But nevertheless, speaking of insufferable douchebags, let’s move on to this match. They had the dramatic milk of the EVPs music and then a video on the screen of sh*t they had written about themselves, and they’re wayward sons, and they will carry on. They in their minds and in the universe of their small little clique of stooges and sycophants. Cutlet and knock it off and Phallus, these three think that they’re the sh*t, they think that they are f*cking superstars. And then Tony has dipped in his pocket again, here comes the opening strings of ‘Carry On My Wayward Son’ by Kansas, and they say that I’m behind the times on my musical taste. Tony had to pony up to f*cking Kansas, and or their record company, to indulge these f*cking tw*ts, their Goddamn wayward son entrance and their big return. And so here they come with Cutlet and knock it off and Phallus, the guys who built the company and the ones whose pettiness and self indulgent masturbatory fantasies of themselves are going to tear it down. And the corpse referee was in charge of the action, it had all the ingredients of an indie-rific spectacle. And the fans that were there love those f*cking dorks, and then the bell rang. And we already knew what it was going to be. And all six of these guys only ever have one match and they do the same sh*t every time. And to be honest, if I stopped to break down how stupid and phoney each of these middle school cheerleading routines were, it would take three hours, people would be bored. AEW botches on Twitter, catch them while it lasts folks, put up a great segment of this thing sent to yackety sacks that fit, it wasn’t speeded up, it just looked like it. I will say it was unwatchable to anybody that’s ever been a fan of pro-wrestling or considered themselves a professional in this industry. And then Felix hit Twinkle Toes in the head with a hammer and beat him 123. Did I miss any nuances of this contest?”
Matches and segments added to WWE’s YouTube channel last week included Edge turning on A. J. Styles from the February 28, 2022 edition of "WWE Monday Night RAW".
WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton, Jr. recently did a virtual signing for K&S WrestleFest, and commented on how his son Randy Orton is doing after his recent back surgery. Randy has been on the shelf since this past May, but just recently underwent fusion surgery on his lower back. Bob said told fans that Randy is “coming along” and will be back shortly. It was recently reported that the surgery will keep Orton of action for an extended period of time, likely until next year some time. “He’s [Randy Orton] coming along. I see him maybe once a week or so. But he’s coming along. He’ll be back in there before you know it,” Orton, Jr. said of his son. When asked who he’d like to see Randy face when he returns to WWE, Bob named Cody Rhodes as he often used to wrestle Cody's father Dusty Rhodes. “I think Cody [Rhodes versus Randy] would be a hell of a match. I wrestled Dusty a lot of times so, might as well keep it ongoing,” Bob said, smiling. Bob was asked about possibly becoming an on-screen character for WWE again. “Oh gosh, probably [Bob said he’d come back on-screen if Randy asked him to]. I’d probably enjoy the heck out of it. I don’t know if the body would. It’d always be great being with your kid, you know, doing something. Sure,” he said.
