Revell vs. Barry rivalry gets personal
Posted: Nov 29th 2007 By: mikeiles
The rivalry between IZW Heavyweight Champion Michael Barry and #1 contender Tommy Revell started off as a professional rivalry. Surprisingly enough it isn't just about the IZW Title anymore. It has escalated to something personal. It has now included the attention of a woman.
When Tommy Revell entered IZW, he was known as Thomas Rumsfeld, the director of security for Mitch W. Carter, the self proclaimed future president of the United States. Also at Carter's side was his trusty aide, Marianne Albright. While Carter left IZW, Rumsfeld and Albright stayed and a romance blossomed. It was after one of Rumsfeld's matches that he took his frustration out on Albright. After losing his match in controversial fashion, the ZorthoTron 420 caught up with Rumsfeld and Albright in the locker room and Rumsfeld was berating the young beauty. Albright had been ring announcer that night and announced that Rumsfeld had lost the match, something that Rumsfeld did not appreciate. After yelling at Albright and leaving the room and leaving Albright shaken and in tears, Michael Barry walked in to console her and offered his hand in friendship. She said things were fine but she appreciated the offer.
On October 20th, Albright still stood by her man as he faced Tyson Jaymes. Rumsfeld, now going by Tommy Revell, picked up the win. But later powerbombed Albright putting her on the injured list for a few weeks.
On October 27th, a video was aired on the ZorthoTron 420 that showed new IZW Commissioner Mike Iles chastising Revell for his attack on Albright. Iles said that the Oklahoma Boxing Commission had strict rules about attacks on women and any more attacks would not be tolerated. Revell responded that he would do what he wanted when he wanted and attack whoever he wanted and walked away. Iles left also, but what was shown next was rather shocking. Michael Barry was seen exiting his locker room to go to the ring for his match and on the way out the door he was talking with someone saying everything would be OK and made dinner plans with the unseen person.
On November 10th, Albright made her return to IZW. This time she was not at the side of Tommy Revell, but now at the side of Michael Barry. The head games continued as Barry defeated Revell to retain the title. In addition, Albright gave Revell The Saturday Night Special, Michael Barry's finisher. Another video aired on November 17th that implied that Barry and Albright have become romantically involved as well.
On November 24th, it all came to a head as Barry was set to defend the title again against Revell. Barry had Albright at ringside again and when they entered the ring she even kissed him which further infuriated Revell. The match ended in a Double Countout as both wrestlers brawled all over the building and even out to the parking lot. Finally order was restored as IZW Commissioner Mike Iles ordered Revell to be removed out the side door while Barry was removed through the entrance way. Later Iles said that Barry would face Revell for the last time on December 22nd at IZW's "Chaotic Christmas" in a Loser-Leaves-IZW-Match. To further the issue, Iles had ordered that neither wrestler can come into physical contact with the other until "Chaotic Christmas".
"Chaotic Christmas" is just a few weeks away. Be sure to circle the date on your calendar. December 22nd is the last time either Michael Barry or Tommy Revell will be wrestling in IZW. The company isn't big enough for the both of them.
