NEWS
M. J. F. has been making waves in AEW since the promotion launched back in 2019, but he will be taking his next step towards superstardom as he has just been cast in the upcoming A24 film "The Iron Claw" from director Sean Durkin. The news was broken by Deadline earlier last week. Although it was not stated what role M. J. F. will have in the film, it is rumored that he will play Lance Von Erich. He joins the likes of Jeremy Allen White, Zac Efron, Harris Dickinson, Holt McCallany, Maura Tierney and Lily James, who will all be portraying various members of the legendary Von Erichs, one of the greatest and most tragic families in the history of the sport of wrestling. From Deadline: "A24’s wrestling pic The Iron Claw from Cannes and Sundance prize-winning filmmaker Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) is getting a new dash of authenticity, with the addition to the cast of professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The Iron Claw follows the rise and fall of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day."

After debuting for AEW last week, siding with Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh, the legendary Jeff Jarrett delivered his first promo on Wednesday’s "AEW Dynamite". Jarrett talked about how he came to AEW because a friend, Dutt, called him for help. He showed up and they put together a plan. He then talked about how he signed Lethal to his first contract in TNA, and praised Dutt for his IQ, saying they’ve taken over wrestling promotions around the globe. Jarrett then praised Singh, and took shots at WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and his crew, as well as WWE Superstar Braun Strowman. “This is a legit 7-foot-5 giant,” Jarrett said of Singh. “Camera man, start at this man’s feet and pan up, slow pan. This isn’t no make believe monster who wears red skinny jeans and is produced by the Banana Nose Circus, no, this guy is one in a billion. Why is he one in a billion? That’s the name of his Netflix special. He’s the only player in the history of the NB, in the history of the National Basketball Association, to be born and bred in India. So, Sting, Darby Allin, you here? I’m calling you out. Darby, we put you in a body bag last week, Sting, we’re gonna put you in a body bag. We’ll take you on.” Jarret then lashed out at the AEW stage manager, before issuing a challenge to Sting and Darby Allin. He ended the promo by chasing the stage manager away with his guitar. Jarrett will make his AEW in-ring debut at "Full Gear" later this month as he and Lethal go up against Allin and Sting. Jarrett was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018. He was hired to work as a WWE Producer in January 2019, and appeared as a surprise entrant in that year's "Royal Rumble". He went on to make a few appearances before being promoted to the creative team in the spring of 2019. He left the company in the summer of 2021, but returned in January of this year, appearing on "SmackDown" and "SummerSlam", and serving as the Senior Vice President of Live Events. Jarrett once again departed the company in August.

Jim Cornette gave his thoughts on various topics on his "Jim Cornette Experience". During the show, Cornette spoke about where things stand between AEW and CM Punk. It looks like Punk is on his way out of AEW as the promotion is reportedly in talks with the former World Champion about buying out his contract, with the only hang-up being the non-compete period. There has been speculation about Punk potentially returning to WWE should AEW buy out his contract. “Apparently now the information has trickled out, or dripped out, or trickled down and dripped or whatever the case, that [CM] Punk and AEW are negotiating, potentially, this has not been confirmed. We haven’t seen documentation of this, but that’s the story going around. Punk and AEW are working on a contract buyout, and that the hold-up is a non-compete clause. So the one good thing that has happened to this company over the last year, they get a major star, he produces ratings, he produces gates, he produces good television, he produces good matches, and Tony Khan cannot keep his f*cking nursery school from f*cking up this goddamn deal and p*ssing off his star. And now instead of telling Twinkle Toes [Kenny Omega] and The Cucamonga Kids [The Young Bucks], ‘Hey, why don’t y’all go back and play with your f*cking school girlfriends in Japan? Because I need real talent because I’m in a promotional war and my ship is taking on water.’ Now he’s going to talk to Punk about a buyout. Does that mean he’s going to bring the other three back? Or will he buy Punk out and just fire the other three for putting him in this position to spin probably a few million dollars at minimum to never have his biggest star on his television again?”

On another episode of his podcast, Cornette praised Bray Wyatt for his ability to make everything he’s part of so believable: “So Bray Wyatt comes out and gets in the ring. And again, like I praised him, and I’ve been trying to praise him. The laugh, the tone, the voice, the delivery, this guy could be one of the most believable wrestlers in the business. He could talk you into something and part of it is just waiting forever to hear and try to understand what point he’s making, but you can take the ride with him because it’s a colourful way of speaking. And he comes out and he says this is me, the real me, no masks, no smoke and mirrors. Just me and you, it’s the real man, Bray Wyatt. And I’m the best version of him, I’m going to do spectacular things while I’m here. Because Ive often in my life, I’ve often been out of control and I go to a dark place. I’m waiting for him to say something, and not to say [he’s not saying a lot], he’s saying plenty. I’m waiting to understand what he’s saying or what point he’s eventually going to make. He never actually gets there, but I love listening to it. Because you think it’s built into something. There’s a lot of anticipation here, it’s a great delivery and he could be one of the most believable people like Blackjack Mulligan was as a promo when, let’s face it, I mean, he was so big and for a massive man like that, his work was good, but he wasn’t like Ricky Steamboat, but he could talk. He could talk you in, they built his cast of characters in Eagle Pass, Texas and he drew the people into what he was saying.” Cornette went on to say that despite the fact that Blackjack Mulligan and Bray Wyatt both have a believable stage presence, Wyatt wants to establish himself as the most extraordinary: “Well, this guy [Bray Wyatt] could do the same thing, but apparently it appears that he doesn’t want to be the most believable guy, he wants to be the most unbelievable, the most spookiest and take The Undertaker and Kane or wrap them up times ten with Papa Shango as a f*cking chaser. And as he’s doing this promo when he said he’s done horrible things, a part of him is not afraid to do that. But there’ll come another time when someone will ask me to do something horrible, I’m like, ‘What the f*ck? And then the video pops up and it’s the guy [Uncle Howdy], someone in a spooky mask with quick cuts and darkness and effects, video effects, all over it. [He is] Doing a promo about mask wearing and no mask you’re wearing and I don’t know what the f*ck is going on now, I can’t understand half of it. But it’s spooky and finally he reveals himself as Uncle Howdy. It looks like, as I think a number of people have pointed out, a mask [of] if Barry Windham was a zombie is what the mask that Uncle Howdy wears. It just so happens that Barry Windham is his uncle. It maybe makes him boy howdy, all these, you know what, that’s what happened. I said boy howdy so many times I finally conjured up Bray Wyatt. But I’m not saying that I’m trying to pitch the idea that Barry Windham is coming in to work with Bray Wyatt, I’m saying it’s his family. It’s another personality somehow of himself and with his convoluted family, dark thoughts in his brain that makes him do horrible things or whatever, but goddamn I don’t know what to think about all this.”

A. J. Styles vs. Edge from "WrestleMania Backlash 2022" was added to the WWE YouTube Channel last week.

Jinder Mahal is back. On the November 11th episode of "WWE Friday Night SmackDown", Mahal faced Braun Strowman in a first-round bout in the SmackDown World Cup. Mahal was aggressive as he brought the fight to the big man, but this approach only fired Strowman up. The former WWE Universal Champion overpowered Mahal. Mahal last wrestled for WWE on the July 22nd episode of "WWE Friday Night SmackDown", where he and Shanky lost to The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar). Ironically, that episode was held on the same day Vince McMahon retired. Triple H was subsequently named the head of WWE creative on July 25th, and Mahal hadn’t competed on WWE TV until he returned on Friday.

On the latest edition of his "To Be The Man" podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair spoke about his daughter, former 10-time Women's World Champion Charlotte Flair, and explains why he thinks the Queen is the greatest female wrestler of all-time. "Absolutely, and probably in the best shape of her life. I think it’s probably a mutual decision between her and the company as to when she comes back. It’ll be I would assume under the perfect circumstance. She’s the best wrestler, she’s the greatest female wrestler of all time. Why he thinks Charlotte vs. Belair would be an all-time main event: Like I said before, to have two legit world-class athletes. I mean, yeah, you could write the story itself. NCAA track star you know, strength, coordination, athleticism. Bianca Belair [vs.] Charlotte flair. It’s a main event in itself."

Ric Flair tweeted about his upcoming Peacock documentary: “I Don’t Know How, At The Age Of 73, @peacock Chose Me To Do A Documentary On. This Time Everything That I Got To Say Is Real, Unedited, And Unfiltered. There Is So Much More To Come. 1 Hour & 30 Minutes Of Me Letting The World Know WTF. I’m Telling My Story. The REAL Story!”

Jim Ross noted on his "Grilling JR" podcast that he will be speaking to "Dark Side of the Ring" for an upcoming look at The Junkyard Dog.

If you were watching Thursday night’s episode of "Impact Wrestling" closely, you might have noticed John Morrison on the show. Morrison appeared in the background of a segment between Tommy Dreamer and Steve Maclin but wasn’t acknowledged by anyone in the segment or by the commentary team. Morrison wrestled for Impact Wrestling as Johnny Impact from 2017 to 2019 and is a former Impact World Champion. He hasn’t been seen on weekly Impact programming since July of 2019. While his reasons for appearing are currently unknown, he was likely there with his wife, Taya Valkyrie, who is currently one-half of the Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Champions. Valkyrie acknowledged her husband’s appearance on social media on Thursday.

Country Music superstar, one-time NWA-TNA wrestler, and Oklahoma native Toby Keith surprised the crowd at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Lexington, KY on November 4th, serenading the crowd for over an hour. His musical performance on stage was his first public appearance since revealing his cancer diagnosis in June.

J. B. Pain had knee surgery on October 8th. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends condolence to Bud Guffey on the passing of his grandfather-in-law last week.
