Gideon Vane was one of the security guards during the Brock Lesnar/Bobby Lashley segment on "WWE Monday Night RAW" on October 31st.
The Iceman was one of the 5 wrestlers recruited by MVP to face Braun Strowman on this week’s "WWE Friday Night SmackDown" episode.
Jeff Jarrett is now All Elite after he made a surprise appearance on "AEW Dynamite" on November 2nd , aligning himself with Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh, and keeping to tradition, smashed a guitar over Darby Allin’s head. But that was not all. AEW President Tony Khan later announced that Jarrett has also been hired as the new Director of Business Development for AEW in a bid to expand the company’s live event business in 2023. Until a few months ago, Jarrett was the Senior Vice President of WWE Live Events but he was removed from that position after Vince McMahon departed the company. Jarrett has now held important positions in Impact, WWE, and AEW, and this year alone has appeared on NWA, GCW, WWE, and AEW TV in on-screen roles.
Tony Khan spoke to Sports Illustrated about Jeff Jarrett joining AEW as the company’s Director of Business Development. Khan said it makes sense for AEW to expand its live events calendar in 2023: “Yes. It makes a lot of sense for AEW to expand our live calendar in 2023 and beyond. There are many places in the U.S. and all over the world where AEW is very popular, and this is a strategic opportunity to expand. We also have Ring of Honor. There are a lot of exciting possibilities for us in live events, and Jeff has such extensive experience as a third-generation businessman in pro wrestling. He’s got tremendous experience in a number of fields, including live event promotions and international distribution. His insight and knowledge are very valuable, and I’m excited to have Jeff join our great team.”

Jim Cornette gave his thoughts on various topics on his "Jim Cornette Experience". During the show, Cornette talked about how much of Malakai Black’s AEW run had been a letdown, referencing The House of Black as a direct result of this. Black is currently on hiatus from wrestling. “This guy has been a disappointment since the start. Remember he looked good, we thought, ‘Okay, guy looks like a bad*ss. Had some buzz about him, came in, did the thing with Cody, and then all of a sudden supernatural city came in, and every match of his, he would have a good match that would go in the toilet because he was playing some kind of spooky mind games with people. Then he gets a group around him and they cater to him until he realises he ain’t getting over, and then he wants to go back to where he kinda got over a little better.”
On a later episode, Cornette spoke about his belief that Triple H shouldn’t have brought back Hit Row. “This is Triple H’s mistake. He was trying to bring back all the talent they lost well, he brought them back but they’re not talent and nothing was lost here. What was lost was Swerve Strickland apparently. Again, I saw the [highlights], I wasn’t treated to the entire thing, but I saw the clip that they released on their own recognisance, on their own website. And God they’re doing a four way at the start, B-Fab is just standing in the ring the manager is wandering around, and then they highlighted Top Dolla. Top Dolla acts like he is a combination of Jimmy Superfly Snuka, The Rock and f*cking I don’t know, Gorgeous George. While he looks like a fat basketball dad on the playground is swearing that he can dunk and fail at every time but then watch this, watch this. He grabs the guy’s hand, he points to the turnbuckle like all the people are going to see me go to the turnbuckle. And then he wallers his fat ass up on top and stands there while the guys helping him balance and then he jumps off and gives him a Baba chop to the back of the head. Oh my God. This is a nearly 40 year old man. Did we not establish that he’s closing in on 40, and he’s dressing like he’s 16 on the playground in the hood.”
Jim Duggan recently joined the "DDP Snakepit" podcast for a conversation about his illustrious career, which included him discussing why he didn’t care about winning championship gold during his run in any major company, specifically WWE. Check out Duggan’s full thoughts on the subject in the highlights: Says his character never cared about winning titles, only fights: “Of the 40 years in the ring, the thing I remember the most was everybody says, ‘You were never World Champion. You were never Tag Team Champion. You were never Intercontinental Champion.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, that was Hacksaw’s deal.’ I don’t care if I win the match, as long as I win a fight.” Recalls competing in the main event of Madison Square Garden with Andre the Giant: “My dad would bring us down to Madison Square Garden to the circus [when I was] a kid. It was a double whammy, to be the main event at the Garden and to be in there with Andre. No matter what profession you’re in, you sell out the Garden, you sell out the Garden. Andre sold out the Garden, and I was there with him.”
MLW stars and former tag team champions Ross and Marshall Von Erich recently appeared on the "Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling" podcast, where the duo discussed a number of different topics, which included them revealing when their MLW contracts were coming to an end. Highlights from the interview are here. Marshall says that their contracts are going to be done with MLW in June of 2023: “We’ve been taking the last month to get back into shape and take — we’re gonna pour our next five to seven years, maybe even longer but, we feel like it’s time. I know a lot of people don’t know but I guess our time with MLW is almost up, I think June 1st is when our contracts are up so we’re just gonna see what happens after that, play the field, you know? Never say never but we’re just gonna, yeah, see what comes to us after this.” Marshall on whether they will be returning to compete at "Blood & Thunder" in January: “We haven’t heard anything yet but yeah, we definitely want to be a part of it for sure… MLW has been a huge blessing in that regard [experiences they’ve had in wrestling through MLW]. We love the whole team, we love all the guys up there and stuff. Made some brothers and stuff so, who knows? Hopefully we’ll keep on doing MLW shows after the contracts are up but we’ll see. I’d say we’re in a good relationship with Court [Bauer] and everybody up there so, yeah, we’ve taken some time off for the house and Court respected that and stuff so yeah, that’s where we’re at right now.” Both Marshall and Ross are open to going anywhere, including AEW or WWE, or even returning to MLW: Marshall: “We’re gonna see how the cards unfold. Now, we’re definitely open to anything. Open to staying with MLW, open to AEW, WWE, any promotion that will offer us — maybe go back to Japan. We’re open to anything. I’m not gonna say ‘absolutely not’ to anything but, you know, right now, we’re getting some dates nailed down. I can’t confirm anything yet because I’m still talking to promoters and working out flights and stuff but, we wanna do a comeback. Come back to the States and wanna try to land everywhere or do some shows everywhere just to get our name out there, get our name back out there and let people know we’re still doing our thing.” Ross: “Maybe show some love back to everybody that showed us love because, you know, if we do hypothetically sign some contract and we’re not able to do these things, we’re always gonna have such good memories of the indie scene so we just wanna really get that out of our system I guess.”
Kevin Von Erich is highly impressed with Zac Efron. The Hollywood actor is set to portray Kevin Von Erich in "The Iron Claw" film. Accordingly, the movie will depict the rise and the fall of the famous wrestling family, the Von Erichs. Directed by Sean Durkin, the film will premiere sometime in 2023. Recently, training photos of Zac Efron emerged as he prepared for his role, evidence of his great physical condition. Kevin Von Erich himself recently saw the photos, revealing his thoughts on Efron’s depiction on The Iron Claw movie. “It’s going to be a hard job, I think,” he told TMZ. “It’s a lot of information and a lot of time, and so, they’ve got some tough work ahead of them, but I saw a picture of the guy (Zac Efron), and he looked great. Man, I don’t think I ever looked that good! I think they’re going to do great, I bet they do. I talked to the director, [he] seemed like a really nice guy.” Von Erich noted that he “was never a bodybuilder. I just wanted to lift, just be better at what I did. It makes life better when you’re in shape, and you can do things.” Although Von Erich confirmed he spoke with the director, Sean Durkin, he hasn’t spoken directly to Zac Efron. “As far as he is concerned, I just saw this picture, and he looks really good and muscular. So my daughters told me that he’s doing quite a few [movies] in the [film world] — so I didn’t see him before, but he looked great though, so he must be working out hard.” “I’ll tell you, for the picture that they showed me at first and the picture they showed me the other day, he must really be working out hard because you’re right, he does have a good body.” The former NWA American Heavyweight Champion continued on to disclose if he plans on watching the film. “Oh yeah, I’ll watch it and it’ll be fun,” he said. “We’ll all get together, maybe watch it out in the yard. We do that sometimes. We have a lot of children here, and sometimes we put a big screen up in the yard and we watch movies outside at night. We’ll probably do that with this one. It’ll be a lot of fun.”
Cazzey Louis Cereghino will be playing Bruiser Brody in the Von Erichs biopic film "The Iron Claw".

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Lady Starwind, who passed away October 28th after suffering a heart attack. She was 57 years old. Starwind, whose real name was Rebecca Cole, was the wife of pro wrestler Korvin Sage and made her debut June 14, 2008 under the name Angel (with several competitors using the name Angel, Oklafan documentation has her listed as Angel [3rd]). She only appeared under that name for 3 events, then by January 2009, she had switched to Lady Starwind (though she did appear once as Sofia Rains). Starwind was a constant presence at her husband's side for most of his matches, except for a brief period towards the beginning of 2009 when Rage Logan won her services for about 6 months. After returning to her husband's side, she regularly appeared with him, cheering him on at SWCW, MSWA, BYEW, TAP, IZW and EmpCW. Starwind made her final appearance October 22, 2016. She had happily been enjoying her retirement from the business, focusing on her ventures as a travel agent and helping Sage raise their son. In total, Starwind appeared on 61 Oklahoma events.
A GoFundme has been started to cover medical expenses of Lady Starwind. You can access it by clicking here.
