NEWS
Speaking on WWE’s "Table for 3", Rick Steiner questioned why his son, Bron Breakker, did not use the Steiner name when he joined WWE NXT. The Steiner name is legendary due to the tag team work and singles careers of Rick and his brother Scott. Rick asked, “I know [WWE] came up with Bron Breakker, why not like Bron Steiner? Why, like, who comes up with that?” Bron responded with, “I kind of came up with it from football and just playing football I tried to hurt people or break people in half when I was blocking. That’s kind of how I came up with the name and I don’t feel like we need to use the [Steiner] name for me to be successful. I mean, I think I should, just go my own, go my own route and pay tribute to [The Steiner Brothers]”.

Beth Phoenix congratulated Candice LeRae on returning to WWE: “When I was training for WrestleMania with @NatbyNature (Natalia), @CandiceLeRae generously came to work with me to knock off the ring rust. She’s a stellar wrestler but as everyone will tell you, an even more stellar human being! Congratulations on your return to the big stage!”

Goldberg, The Miz, and Grayson Waller appeared on WWE’s "The Bump" this past week.

Goldberg has confirmed that he doesn’t have any matches left on his contract with WWE. In an appearance on "The Bump", Goldberg addressed his contract status, saying that he doesn’t have any matches left on the contract, but that he owes Roman Reigns for Reigns choking him out in their match in Saudi Arabia. On "The Bump", Goldberg also said working with his son was a dream come true for him. “As a father, that’s like a dream come true,” Goldberg said of working alongside his son. “That’s absolutely the coolest thing you could ever have. Whether it’s the video of him coming to the ring with me or whether it’s the video him getting choked out by Lashley, I now have piece of history that I can save forever with my son and I together. It’s just the coolest thing that as a father, you could ever have.” Goldberg lost his match against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in Saudi Arabia. At the "Crown Jewel" event last year, Goldberg wrestled Bobby Lashley.

Among the matches uploaded to WWE’s YouTube channel this past week were Goldberg vs. Dallas Page for the WCW World Title from "Halloween Havoc 1998", Goldberg vs. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Lex Luger from the November 8, 2000 edition of WCW Thunder, Goldberg vs. Triple H for the WWE World Title from "Survivor Series 2003", and A. J. Styles vs. Matt Riddle from the September 27, 2021 edition of "Monday Night RAW".

Jeff Jarrett discussed Vince Russo made himself WCW Champion in 2000 during his latest "My World with Jeff Jarrett". Here are the highlights: The idea: “I was still a huge believer of, what are we doing next week? Who’s his opponent? What kind of match is he going to have, and I’m not talking about 5 star quality. I’m talking about episodic storytelling. How is Vince going to go tell a story in a match? It just wasn’t there, ever there. He wasn’t trained to be a wrestler. I know the Arquette story, the fluke win, and all of that, and that was a publicity stunt. There’s a bunch of different moving parts. I didn’t think Vince could get to week-to-week episodic storytelling. I didn’t think it was a good idea at all.” Whether Goldberg tried to hurt Russo in their angle that led to Russo’s concussion: “On Sunday afternoons, do you think a defensive back tees off on a wide receiver and says, ‘I’m going to hurt this guy?’ No. I think they tee off and say, ‘I’m going to make this son of a gun feel it tomorrow and maybe the next day, and maybe the next day, and maybe the next day. I’m going to sting him.’ Russo signed up for this and Bill said, ‘Ok pal. If you’re signing up for it, you’re going to feel it.’ Now is he going to try and concuss him? No. Is he going to try to permanently maim him? No. But he’s going to make him feel it. There’s no doubt in my mind. I’ve been in the ring with Bill. Bill is aggressive. He’ll take it to you and everything that goes with it. Is he the most polished guy? No. But I don’t think Bill said, ‘I’m going to hopefully end this guy’s career.’ No, I don’t think that.”

With Karl Anderson being a free agent, Sports Illustrated asked him if there’s a chance he’ll end up teaming with A. J. Styles or Finn Balor in WWE again. He said “Just like you said, never say never. We’ve got verbally agreed upon dates with New Japan Pro Wrestling for an extended period of time. But there’s such a built-in story with Bullet Club, and we never got to finish the story [in WWE] with A. J. Styles or even Finn. There’s been a lot of things that have happened in the business, so you can never say never. Any time we can work with brothers like A. J. and Finn, we’re always going to listen to that.”

Jim Ross praised The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) on his "Grilling JR" podcast: “Those kids got over. They’ve gotten over and it’s a pleasant surprise that they got over as they have. So, good stuff man. Some of these young cats are finding their home and I like it. I like that. Two good, athletic kids, and their little gimmick, the scissor me thing and all of that, seems to be working. Fans love it. It’s funny what gets over, how that works. If you told me six months ago that this is going to be a big deal, I would have said, ‘Well, we’ll see,' but it has been a good deal, so I’m happy for those kids. That’s what you want. You want guys to find their way and all that good stuff.”
