NEWS
PWInsider reported that those who were part of the Bachelorette party Monday night on RAW included Miranda Gordy, Lelia Grey, Raychell Rose, and Kayla Sparks.

Ron Simmons and John Bradshaw Layfield recently appeared on “After the Bell with Corey Graves” to discuss a wide range of topics. During it, J. B. L. discussed working with Vader. “To tell you how much respect I have for Vader, his last pay per view, he asked to work with me. He loved Ron. He loved the APA. He rode with me some. He always liked me and kind of considered me an understudy or whatever it was. But he told me that day he said, ‘I asked to work with you’, and he said, ‘Today you’are going to get the old Vader.’ He said, ‘I’m going to come out smoking’, and he was as stiff as you could possibly be. He said, ‘When you beat somebody today, you’re going to beat somebody important because I’m going to have you beat the old Vader. I’m going to have you kick out of my finish because that is going to be the last thing people see is you kicking out of my finish. Then you’re going to hit me with yours and go over.’ He did that for me on his way out. That was really, really cool for me."

During his "Grilling JR" podcast, AEW announcer Jim Ross was asked about Vince McMahon possibly having a succession plan. He said “One would hope, I assume he does. I just don’t know. Maybe the succession plan is to package it up and sell it. I’ve said before and I don’t mean to make it morbid, he’s the genius behind the whole damn thing. He’s very protective of what he’s built and I would be the same way. We want to protect what we’ve built. I think Vince’s succession plan is, he’s the kind of guy who thinks he’s going to live forever and I hope he does. He’ll probably outlive me, and he might outlive you. He still trains hard and eats right and all those things. He’s got good DNA. So, I don’t know about the succession plan, but I think they have to say they have one simply for the stockholders’ sake. I think that it’s such an attractive property with so many diverse tentacles that spread around the world, I think it’s an attractive buy for some big company. It seems like that’s the direction that some big businesses are heading in – they’re selling and consolidating. That might be where his head is at, I don’t know how to answer that question. I just can’t see, today, anybody taking his place at the head of the table. I don’t know who’s there. There’s people who can do it I guess, but I don’t know who they are and what’s available and if Vince trusts them impeccably enough to turn the reins over to them.”

Impact Wrestling has announced a deal with the Hudson Valley Renegades minor league baseball team that plays at Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls, NY. On April 21st, Jordynne Grace, Rosemary, Scott D'Amore, and Gail Kim will be at the team's home game. On April 22nd, Moose and Tasha Steelz will be at the home game to throw out the first pitch. Members of the Renegades will be at the April 24th "Impact Wrestling" tapings at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

EC3 recently joined "SHAK Wrestling" about his new Control Your Narrative promotion, and why he believes there is a negative divisiveness surrounding its message. He says the divisiveness comes from people not truly understanding what CYN is. He said “The divisiveness comes from, people don’t know what it is yet, haven’t really consumed it, maybe just saw a clip or two. You’re going to run into negativity and divisiveness when you are different. It’s hard for people to…if they don’t understand something immediately, it’s not, ‘Oh, I don’t get this, let me find out more.’ It’s, ‘This sucks, next.’ Maybe, on my end, I have to grab their attention quicker. I have to give them something more to sink their teeth into with immediate gratification.” He also says he’s not creating for fans, he’s creating for people that believe in him: “At the same time, I don’t want to compromise long-term storytelling because people are divisive about it. You can’t create for everyone. You try to please everybody, you please nobody. Each and every company uses the standard, ‘we’re doing it for the fans.’ Fans are booking shows now. I’m not creating for the fans. I’m creating for the people that believe in me and want to be part of my idea and movement. Hopefully, through that, the fans will find a very engaging and insightful product that has next level depth, the same action and entertainment they crave, humor, comedy, drama, but I can’t create to try to reach the divisive person. They’ll either give me a chance, or they don’t, and that’s fine. That’s their choice, either way. To create your bold vision, you have to do straightforward.”

Oklafan extends condolences to Brian Dixon on the passing of his grandfather Jerry on April 10th.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Jermaine Johnson, who passed away on April 10th congestive heart failure. He was 38 years old. Johnson, whose real name was Tremaine Fisher and who sometimes competed simply as Ja’Mane, made his debut on his 24th birthday on March 15th, 2008. Over the next 9 years, he would be a mainstay for IZW and MSWA, feuding with basically every top star that these companies had. Along the way, he established himself as one of the most energetic performers in the ring and a huge creative component behind the scenes. While initially a singles star, Johnson first tasted championship gold after forming a partnership with Montego Seeka as BLK-OUT. They would feud with Impact, Inc. for the IZW Tag Team Titles and win them for the first time on December 20th, 2008 in a TLC Match. That reign would last until February 28, 2009 when Impact, Inc. would regain the belts. Johnson would then go on to claim his first singles gold, winning the GPCW Wichita Mountains Title from Li’l Joe on March 13, 2009. He and Seeka would also regain the IZW Tag Team Titles on May 9th, 2009 from Impact, Inc., but a week later, IZW Commissioner Steve O returned the titles to Impact, Inc. when video evidence proved that BLK-OUT had used the belts to assist them in winning the titles the previous week. Undeterred, BLK-OUT pursued the titles and took them for a 3rd time from Impact, Inc on June 20, 2009, again in a TLC match. While tag team success was his, Johnson was no stranger to singles gold. He lost the GPCW Wichita Mountains title back to Li’l Joe on August 14, 2009, but replaced it with the MSWA Oklahoma Title on September 20, 2009 which he won from Ky-ote Joe. His third IZW Tag Team Title reign ended on October 3, 2009 at the hands of Arrogant Money, but BLK-OUT wasn’t done yet. In a surprise move, they disguised themselves as the Midnite Rider & Soto Miyagi, winning their 4th and final IZW Tag Team Titles together on January 2, 2010. They unmasked after that victory. That reign ended on January 9, 2010 after IZW Co-Commissioner Steve O stripped them of the titles due to their actions of misrepresentation. That year also saw Johnson’s MSWA Oklahoma Title reign come to an end on May 7, 2010 when he lost the belt to Kevin Morgan. But singles success was just beginning for Johnson as he would win the IZW Title for the first time on November 6, 2010 from Aaron Neil. It looked like that reign was over on August 6, 2011 when special referee Johnny Z counted a pinfall on Jermaine by Double D, but that was overturned when Jeff Wolfenbarger filed an injunction with the Oklahoma Athletic Commission and had that decision overturned. Johnson’s reign would continue until he finally lost the belt back to Aaron Neil on December 17, 2011 in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match. He would regain the title from Neil on February 11, 2012 in a TLC Match, but his second reign would only last until March 17, 2012 when he again lost the title to Neil, this time in a No DQ Match. Johnson would then return to tag team competition, forming What Wrestling Should Be with Jordan Jacobs. While in MSWA, this pairing was still part of Impact, Inc. and would capture the MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Titles from Nemesis on August 5, 2012. Having won two of the IZW Titles, Johnson also decided to become a Grand Slam Champion for the company by focusing on capturing the IZW Impact Division Title and he would achieve that goal on October 13, 2012 by winning a Battle Royal where Damien Morte’s Impact Division Title was on the line. A month later, IZW Commissioner Erica declared that all Impact Division Title matches would be held under Impact Rules. And while he didn’t really need those rules, The Convict would take advantage of them to win the Impact Division Title on December 1, 2012. Johnson then regained the title on December 27, 2012 in an Impact X Match. Over in MSWA, Impact, Inc. held the belts until January 6, 2013 when they lost them back to Nemesis, but would regain the belts two weeks later on January 20, 2013. But while he regained the MSWA Tag Team Titles, he would lose the IZW Impact Division Title to Damien Morte in a TLC Match. And Johnson found himself without any gold on April 7, 2013 when Impact, Inc. lost the MSWA Tag Team Titles to The Syndicate. That wouldn’t last long as they would regain the MSWA Tag Team titles on May 12, 2013 and then on June 1, 2013, Johnson & Jacobs would become dual champions as they would win the IZW Tag Team Titles for the first time from The Birds of Prey. It was a marvelous summer for Johnson & Jacobs, but would not end well as they lost the MSWA Tag Team titles to The Syndicate on August 11, 2013 in a Tables Match. They avoided losing the IZW Tag Team Titles to The East-West Playas on July 27, 2013 when it was revealed that Team Bull had disguised themselves as The Midnite Rider & Soto Miyagi, but Team Bull would officially claim the belts on September 14, 2013. Never one to stay down too long, What Wrestling Should Be regained the MSWA Tag Team Titles from The Syndicate in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match on October 6, 2013 and put the IZW Tag Team Titles back around their waists on November 2, 2013 when they upended Team Bull. And just like before, the team would lose both championships around the same time. They lost the MSWA Tag Team Titles for the final time to The K. C. Wolves on February 9, 2014 and the IZW Tag Team Titles to Team Bull in a TLC Match on March 15, 2014. Johnson now put his full attention to IZW and again devoted himself to a singles career, but would again find himself as an IZW Tag Team Champion when he made an uneasy alliance with Double D and they defeated The Old School Studs on November 15, 2014. One week later, the belts were back around the waists of Gary Tool & Randy Price, but Johnson was focused in a different direction as he once again wanted to sit atop the IZW throne. That is exactly what happened when he beat IZW Champion Johnny Z in a Triple Threat Match also involving Double D. This final IZW Title reign would last until May 23, 2015 when Brad Michaels would cash in his Impact Player of the Year trophy and defeat Johnson for the IZW Title. Johnson remained out of the title picture in IZW for the entire summer until he and Jordan Jacobs once again captured the Tag Team Titles on September 12, 2015 from Impact, Inc. But later that same day, What Wrestling Should Be would lose the titles to The K. C. Wolves in a Triple Threat Match that also involved Nemesis. Never one to stay down long, What Wrestling Should Be regained the titles one last time on January 23, 2016 when they beat Nemesis in a Chairs Match. That title reign would end on March 19, 2016 when The K. C. Wolves won a Triple Threat Match that also involved Nemesis. It would take over a year, but Johnson would once again latch hold onto the IZW Tag Team Titles. They were the first title he would hold in IZW and fittingly they would be the last title he would hold there as he, Johnny Z and Damien Morte were given the titles by IZW Co-Commissioner Shawn McHale. They were the final tag team champions in the company’s history. After IZW closed, Johnson took some time away from the ring, but eventually found his way to the ring for WCR where he reunited with his former partner Montego Seeka, now known as Tego, and rechristened BLK-OUT as The Step Brothas. Together, they would capture the vacant WCR Tag Team Titles on January 2, 2019 in a Triple Threat Match against Devastation Reborn and Flex Zerba & Jim Duggan. Sadly, outside issues would prevent Johnson from defending those titles full time and he was replaced in the group by Mr. Wobble. Johnson again disappeared from wrestling for all of 2020, but returned in 2021. His first success on this final go-round came in WFC when he defeated WFC Hometown Heroes Champion Dimitri Alexandrov for the title on July 17, 2021. He also reformed The Step Brothas and won the ASP Tag Team Titles from DnR on September 5, 2021. Johnson’s last singles championship run ended on September 18, 2021 when he lost the WFC Hometown Heroes Title to Thrash. And as Johnson never seemed to be happy with just one title, he and Tego added the BCW Tag Team Titles to their resume when they defeated Niles Plonk & Flex Zerba on October 2, 2021. Sadly, The Step Brothas would be forced to relinquish both titles due to Johnson’s health issues. Johnson competed on 511 documented cards in Oklahoma. His first match was a victory over Michael Barry on March 15, 2008 at IZW in Oklahoma City. His final match would be a win with Tego over Tunnel Vision at ASP on October 24, 2022 in Bethany. Johnson’s energy, creativity, huge smile and warm personality will never be forgotten by those who knew him and joined him every time he came to the ring in his motto “We Got This”!
