AEW Is Wasting The Immense Talent Of Ethan Page

Ethan Page is way too talented to be wasted in the way AEW has used him.

Almost one year ago exactly, Ethan Page made his AEW debut inside the Face of the Revolution ladder match at the Revolution pay-per-view, and fans had high hopes for the star's potential future with the company.

After all, Page had made quite a name for himself during his time in Impact and had seemingly outgrown the promotion when he decided to leave following a stellar tag team run alongside Josh Alexander. Fans saw AEW as the natural next move for the Canadian and expected him to solidify his place as a burgeoning star in Tony Khan's company, but it hasn't quite gone to plan so far.

AEW just hasn't made the most of Page's talent, and he has often been an afterthought during his 12-month run with the promotion. There's still time for his run in the company to turn around and improve, but AEW needed to do so quickly, or else they risk completely wasting having someone of Page's talent on their roster.

His Tag Team With Scorpio Sky Has Fallen By The Wayside

Almost immediately after he arrived in AEW, Page was paired up with another talented individual who had been underutilized in Scorpio Sky, and it appeared the two would find success in the tag team division after struggling as singles wrestlers, but that hasn't really come into fruition.

Sky, who had won the very ladder match in which Page made his debut, was spinning his wheels after a heel turn, and pairing the two men together should have propelled them up the card, but instead, they have fallen by the wayside and have all too often been relegated to the background and have yet to win any meaningful feuds during their time together.

Their very first feud as a team saw the two lose to Darby Allin and Sting, before they were eventually joined by Dan Lambert, but that also led to the pair serving as fodder for the Inner Circle. If AEW wants to get the most out of this promising and talented tandem, they need to showcase the two as the stars they are and really give them a chance to show how good they can be.

He's Great Inside And Outside The Ring

Whenever he has been given the opportunity, Page has shown time and time again just how talented a wrestler he is, both inside the ring and outside it. His matches with the likes of Allin and Cody Rhodes for the TNT title have proven he is more than capable of holding his own against some of the best wrestlers AEW has to offer, and he very rarely disappoints.

It's not just his work inside the squared circle that impresses though, whenever Page gets his hands on a microphone he is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining talkers in AEW and his ability to gain heat through his promos is second to none. Page is the total package, and it's unacceptable that, being as strong as he is inside the ring and as entertaining as he is outside it, AEW hasn't done more with him.

His Disappointing PPV Record

Debuting at Revolution last year, Page's record on AEW's biggest shows got off to an admirable start, despite not winning his debut match, but over the year since, his pay-per-view record has been abysmal. In fact, the 32-year-old has wrestled on just two pay-per-views following his arrival last year, at Double or Nothing and Full Gear.

His absences on All Out and this year's Revolution are just prime examples of how little he is being used in AEW. To make matters worse, Page's two pay-per-view outings since his debut in the promotion last year saw him on the losing end. That's right, having been in the company for 12 months now, the former Impact tag team champion is yet to win a match on pay per view. His first outing, a tag team match alongside Scorpio Sky saw the pair lose to Darby Allin and Sting in a match where the outcome was never in question.

He got his second crack at the whip at Full Gear, but again Page - teaming with Sky, as well as American Top Team's Lambert, Junior Dos Santos and Andrei Arlovski - lost to the Inner Circle in another match where the result was never in doubt.

As his former partner Josh Alexander accelerated to Impact's main event scene following his departure, Page will be hoping for similar fortunes in the future, lord knows he is good enough.
